Way too many email notifications...

As far as I understood, email notifications of a response to a thread were only sent out once until you visit the thread again. Then if someone new posts after I have visited said thread, I will get a new notification. If I don’t visit the thread again, I won’t get another notification no matter how many people post to the thread.

I have been getting a ton of emails regarding threads I haven’t checked in weeks. I’m talking over 5 a day in some cases.

Am I wrong about procedure and is this the way it’s supposed to be or is something wrong?

You ned to go back to the thread, post, and uncheck the email notification box.

They say you won’t get another one unless you visit the thread, but that isn’t always the case.

I should say it’s been my experience that it doesn’t always work that way.

Thanx Arden Ranger. That’s a good idea.

I wasn’t sure if I did something wrong of if it had something to do with what also caused the time outs and quadruple posts that have been happening recently.

I guess it’s just a quirk in the system.

I read a thread on ATMB on this subject a few months ago.

IIRC, you’ll keep getting notifications for as long as that thread is active. There’s only one way to turn it off, and that would be to email a mod or two. Ask nicely :slight_smile:
