A quibble:
All current Batman titles (indeed, all current DC Universe titles) do NOT take place on Earth-1. Earth-1 was destroyed in the Crisis like the other Earths. Earth-1’s history can’t be reconcilled with the current world.
“OK” you think “They take place on Earth-After Crisis (Earth-AC), right?”
Wrong. First, there were two Post-Crisis worlds: the one that appeared in #11 and #12 of Crisis (remember Robin-Earth 2 and the Earth 2 Huntress hanging around with the Shazam! characters? Remember the real Jason Todd (not the street punk, the circus kid) hanging around with the Teen Titans)? Remember Braniac mourning the death of Supergirl? Remember the Freedom Fighters arguing with Harbinger about their history?
Somewhere after Crisis, but not consistant across DC titles, Earth-After Crisis changed into another world. One where no-one remembered the “true” events of Crisis and the stuff mentioned above were quietly removed. Jason Todd mutated from interesting character to street punk. Call this world Earth Post Crisis

Remember Zero-Hour? Sadly, so do I. Rewrote history AGAIN and made some stupid changes to characters’ histories (don’t even get me started on the change to Batman). So now we’re on Earth-Zero.
For those of you who don’t read this stuff, yeah. It’s just as confusing and dumb from the perspective of someone who’s been reading 'em for 30-some years.

PS Doc: Cavelleri, not much. He’s done a bunch of fairly forgettable stuff but Staton’s one of the true unsung greats of comics, up there with Jim Aparo. (Plus, IIRC, Staton co-created the Earth-2 version of the Hunteress)
