I’m not aware of any videos posted yet. There are some transcripts up if you’re interested. A quick internet search will get you there. I’d wait for video if I were you.
I could never consider one’s public speaking ability any more than a sometimes entertaining sideshow, and would never base my vote on same, but as someone who has had to do a bit of this sort of thing from time to time, I can appreciate it as a sort of art. So I want to say the past couple of weeks have been something of a master class in speechmaking, IMO. Even if I disagree totally with their politics, I can recognize the skill with which Ann Romney and Paul Ryan made their presentations, and on the Dem side Deval Patrick, Michelle Obama, and President Clinton have all had real barnburners.
Now, that said, Clinton definitely flirted with the audience’s attention span. I was thinking for some considerable time, “OK Bill, bring it on home” before he did.
I’d much like to see Obama’s event closer live, but unfortunately a work-related event will put the kibosh on that. Guess I’ll read the comments when I get home.
Got it just now. Thanks.
Clinton’s speech was so detailed it included built-in analysis, punditry, and commentary! I really liked it because it was primarily an appeal to reason which is very unusual. It was a good counterbalance to Michelle’s speech which made its case on emotional appeal.
Yeah, Bill just electric! I’ve seen him live and he is just freaking amazing. He laid out actual POLICY and was able to give us all a primer on what the President is doing for the country. FACT CHECK THIS!!! BOOYA!!
Clinton’s awesome, but doesn’t it just remind people that Obama isn’t Bill Clinton?
Drop the mike. That was a game changer.
Bill C. called the Republican right wing out for hate, articulated why health care reform is important, recalibrated expectations for what is reasonable and possible in returning a wrecked economy to health… and went over limit. But it didn’t fucking matter.
Reince Priebus is crying himself to sleep right now.
I searched but found no link yet. I’d
Wait, I found the whole thing at C-SPAN. There’s a link to it on the right-hand side, and links to a whole bunch more speeches.
Time given for Bill’s speech: 49:34.
Oh, and Sandra Fluke’s speech is listed below the video play box.
I was unaware there was any persistent confusion on the matter.
The Republicans took a chance by trying to suck up to Clinton recently. He basically shoved it up their asses. Medicaid is a huge issue and Clinton is absolutely correct on what is going to happen to it if Romney gets into office. The man has a great gift for distilling issues into language everyone can understand, and he’s a formidable weapon for lobbying the Independent voter.
There is from some of Obama’s supporters. They think he’s still the guy they elected in 2008. Most voters realize he’s not and if anything Clinton only confirms his inadequacy.
Imagine JFK giving a speech in support of Jimmy Carter in 1980. It’s probably a good thing for Carter that didn’t happen, he would have lost by more.
You have a strange idea of pillow talk.
By that rationale, Clint Eastwood’s speech was a rousing success.
I love Obama, and my vote was never in question, but if I could vote for the Big Dawg again, I’d knock over old ladies to get into that booth.
No more than seeing my awesome son do something awesome reminds me that he’s not my awesome daughter.
Listen to yourself.
Let’s assume you’re right and Clinton was so masterful that Obama’s half the president he is. Clinton is still saying Obama is better than Romney. Are you now saying his credibility in backing the best candidate is suspect?
I suppose it’s comforting to know this is the best criticism you can come up with until Fox gets its talking points together.
Uh, okay then. Thanks for the comment. Next caller?
No, no. Pillow talk comes after. Alongside the smoke & cuddle. I think you might mean dirty talk, in which case… maybe.
Ooooohh, Say “Arithmetic” again! Say it again!
Some #Bill Clinton tweets on twitter:
“I want Bill Clinton to explain the ending of Lost to me.”
“Bill Clinton should be the Secretary of Explaining Things.”
“So confused. Bill Clinton’s speech made me forget that I’m Canadian and it somehow undid my bra.”
“Sometimes America still gets drunk and texts Bill Clinton at 3 a.m.”
“I will pay Bill Clinton $5,000 to rewrite Prometheus.”
“bill clinton is so suave. he could get ann romney to vote for obama.”
“lets be sure to compare bill clinton’s speech to george w. bush’s. OH WAIT.”
And #Arithmetic is trending.
Thanks. Just got the first 14 mins off of YouTube.
So far, I am pretty amazed.
The non-partisanship (or bi-partisanship) part really resonates.
Will get the rest now.
It’s 12:28 est, and cspan won’t load, cnn, abc, cbs, nbc, fox, don’t have video of the Clinton speech yet. It’s 2012, I have an Internet connection, this just seems f’d up to me…
