I wouldn’t want the broader concept to get (ahem) pigeonholed into just threads like that. I was really thinking of any thread that seems to go on much longer than you’d expect.
Pigeon egg is one. Baby’s dirty ass is another. Live foaling is a good example.
I’m sorry that so many of you dislike the Pigeon Egg thread. I’ve been following it from the beginning, and find it a fascinating look into the lives and habits of a creature that shares our environment pretty much everywhere, but about which most of us knew nothing*. I would defend to the death its right to live forever.

You would have to find someone to fight against first. I’m not sure anyone in this thread would be interested. Certainly not me.
I don’t think that anyone dislikes it- it is just surprising thread to keep being active in many peoples’ eyes. It is a good example of a very narrow field of interest just from the title so it is surprising that it has so many views and responses.
