I don’t know. There’s something about it, I’m not sure what, that says this one isn’t going to work.
I may be cynical, but my guess is this one wins out. The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. Which doesn’t bode well for a name change.
Seems kind of drab. How about Never Mind The Bollocks? That should ring a few bells with people.

I think I’d have to agree with objections to filing things like breaking news (e.g. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine) as “Pointless”.
Yeah, I think the whole idea is to get rid of the “mundane and pointless” part. Changing the name but keeping either “mundane” or “pointless” as part of it, let alone both of them, doesn’t seem to me to make sense.
I just assume the “mundane and pointless” is ironic.

I agree. Seeing as sub/child forums are not available, and the main complaints are about using mundane and pointless, changing the name completely seems like the best bet. However, inertia is strong here, so I’m not holding my breath.
One other idea. Pinned to the top of MPSIMS is the Doper Milestone thread, which doesn’t seem to get a lot of traffic. Why not make that a forum called something like Doper Life/News and change MPSIMS to Breaking News. I think that would get a lot more action as a separate forum than as a pinned topic. I’m not even sure if most people even think of the Doper Milestone thread unless they are looking at it.
I find this topic a little mundane. If they are taking votes on forum names, maybe The Quarantine Zone should be changed to Covert Covid Covered Kwickly. Or not.

I tried to get Mundane Pointless renamed - oh yes! Even got a bunch of people on board. Good folk, forward-thinking, just hoping for a better world; they lined us all up and shot us - bang! Not literally, but it would have been kinder if they had. No son, this is the place where dreams go to die.

I don’t mind Mundane because wars do go on and one gets inured or gets “effitititis”. Pointless covers a lot of territory, too.
Maybe “Personal Insights” would be a better subtitle but you actually have to add more than just a link to whatever is happening. Personal stuff wouldn’t need a link, obviously.
