Big kisses to ladyfoxfyre, whom I imagine is happier than I am. Spiritus Mundi, whose name I typically misspell, must be grinning over his Ybor Gold even as I type this.
What a great victory, they beat the Rams in St. Louis! Where has this been all year long?!?
What do you mean mediocre! The Bucs are 5-5 now which is, um, well, [sub]mediocre[/sub]. But we dominated. And if it weren’t for the refs, we would own the Rams 3-0 in the last three meetings.

The Bucs match up very well with the Rams. Their strength is defensive speed, against the Rams’ offensive speed. Warner is not a scrambling multi-threat QB, which has always given the Bucs defense fits. They do a good job of shutting down Faulk while they have trouble with big, bruising backs like Bettis. And they know that if they are patient they should be able to pick off Warner. Couple that with a handful of key Rams out with injuries and you get tonight’s result.

And I would like to thank Martz for foolishly burning his replay challenge on a silly first down spot so that he couldn’t get Dunn’s touchdown called back.
Yes!! Now if only we can manage to not choke mightiliy against the Bungles.
I am working on getting a (good) ticket for this week’s Bucs - Ben Gals game. If I can, then look for me on the TV. I’ll be in my Bucs jersey (#47 - Lynch) and may even take a sign alluding to the Straight Dope or some such. I need to find out which Network will be transmitting back to Tampa (I doubt it’s a national game) so that I can suck up to whoever’s there and improve my chances of airtime. It will help if the Bucs win big, more dead airtime to kill and more likely they will pick out the lone Buc fan to focus on. I’m not counting on that last part, they be a bit flat after the emotional win this week.
Shibboleth, I love the Bucs, always root for the home team. I didn’t see the game, though, but all my friends who are also Bucs fans said that they tried to give the game away, as usual, and that the only reason they won is because there were 5 turnovers by the Rams. I love those guys, but darn, they can find more ways to lose a game!
I haven’t seen this thread until today. Oh man, was I happy as hell when that game ended. Anybody else watch Sapp slam Marshall Faulk so hard it gave them both back spasms? When I saw that, I said to myself, “I don’t care who wins, I’m wearing that Sapp jersey tomorrow!” and I sure did. I still think the no fumble, incomplete forward pass challenge that was upheld by the refs was a bunch of bull. Whenever you’ve got grip on the ball past the point of release, it just isn’t going anywhere anymore. And when you drop the ball after that, you lost it, too bad.
I do have to congratulate the Rams coach for using up all his challenges in the first quarter, thereby losing a first down ruling which was two yards before the marker, as well as a touchdown that saw Dunn’s foot out of bounds at the 5, and even then the ball wasn’t in the endzone before he went out for good.
That’s what you get for throwing your weight around on the calls that don’t make the game.
But I’d say the interceptions were nice. First time Warner has thrown under 50% completion.
I was a happy happy Bucs fan on Monday night.
