Wear a Caucasians shirt to a Redskins tailgate - 'I'll ****ing cut you'

The Daily Show took a Native American activist to a Washington Redskins tailgater wearing a joke shirt that said “Caucasians.”

He was humiliated, mocked, demeaned, ridiculed, and threatened, and not in a fin way.

He should have worn this shirt. I have several and everybody loves them.

Should have brought along some plain clothes cops to arrest people like that. Would make a wonderful sting operation if it was that bad.

Of course, local cops would probably accuse you of ‘inciting a riot’.

***The Daily Show *** is run by irresponsible assholes who regularly pull stunts that could get someone hurt. THIS time, the person in danger was an American Indian. But recently, they turned a huge band of American Indian activists loose on 4 harmless Redskins fans who had been promised they WOULDN’T be subjected to such a thing.

When you live by stupid stunts, eventually, you’re going to get someone hurt. And Jon Stewart’s crocodile tears won’t help.

Ooh, ooh, did they scalp the palefaces?

What a ridiculous bit racist your post is. There is nothing whatsoever about that Daily Show segment that was the least bit threatening to a sane, nonracist person; those activists weren’t equipped with tomahawks, weren’t shouting war whoops, weren’t firing arrows from the sides of their appaloosas. They were pissed off at a bunch of jerks wearing racist paraphernalia, that’s all, but they expressed their anger entirely through nonviolent language.

There’s no comparison at all between a bunch of activists expressing anger through nonviolent language, and someone threatening to cut someone. Your tu quoque is a racist failure.

You’re just pissed because you’re 1/32nd Cherokee.

I guess somebody just outed himself as a Redskins fan :stuck_out_tongue:

Do you believe that what Jon STewart chooses to broadcast is the truth? He and his staff edit their tapes to make the points THEY want to make, and conveniently leave stuff that contradicts their points on the cutting room floor.

The white fans who were suddenly confronted by a mob of Indian activists DID feel threatened, and one called the police.

That wasn’t a harmless prank, it was intimidation. You may think those fans were such despicable racists that they DESERVED to be intimidated, but you can’t pretend there was no threatening going on.

Should they have felt intimidated?

Sure, they did. All those people who disagree with their … culturally insensitive … views, show up, and some of them have tattoos and are not smiling ear to ear. They probably were intimidated.

The more important question was should they have been? Should they have expected the discussion to turn into a physical beating? Should they have been scared for their life when forced to see people that are offended by their actions?

Personally, I don’t think so. Sure, they were intimidated. But I put that on their own … cultural insensitivity … and not on what the Daily Show did. Their intimidation should have been over having to defend their idiotic views, and not over fear of physical pain.

Nonsense- the Daily Show explicitly TOLD the interviewees there would be no confrotnation, then turned loose a mob of Indian activists on them. That was both unforgivably dishonest AND deliberately intimidating.

One of those interviewees was frightened enough to call the police. Did the guy in the “Caucasians” shirt call the cops? Why not? He was being threatened, and there was video evidence. Why not press charges?

Incidentlly, look at what an oversensitive whiny pussy Jon Stewart turns into when someone dares give him a taste of his own medicine.

Speaking directly, privately and forcefully to someone you believe has gone too far doesn’t sound like oversensitivity or pussiness to me. Being a pussy would be avoiding that confrontation with Seth MacFarlane and using his show to get your own back.

So where is the video? The Daily Show brought comedians and a video crew specifically to film the reactions of the fans to the deliberately provocative actions of the comedians and didn’t (can’t?) produce the video evidence of a threat? Where is the video of the “wannabe linebackers”? Did the video show the comedians verbally antagonizing their victims in order to produce the desired effect?

As a protective class of citizen (a comedian) who can’t be held responsible for his actions, Jon Stewart planned yet another ambush of unsuspecting people in order to entertain his audience. Did Stewart’s team tell the whole truth or just enough to get a laugh?

“Turned loose a mob of Indian activists”? Good God, man, they didn’t throw them in Thunderdome, they put them in the same room after one of them said she needed to be sitting down talking with the people who were offended. Your prejudice is showing almost as much as theirs was.

Do you think they should have? Do you think there were physical threats made? Do you think there was a physical confrontation?

Or is it a case of a person being too scared to defend a … culturally insensitive … viewpoint in front of people who aren’t all smiles?

Why do you think he didn’t? Me, I think it’s because he’s got the right side of the issue and doesn’t think it’s necessary to involve police over non-physical disagreements, but I’d be fascinated to hear why you think calling the police in the first case is OK, but not in the second.

I think Palefaces should be used rather than Caucasians.

Or the South Park Washington Redskins logo with the add ons.

Did you read the linked article? He explains why right there.

A “mob”? You continue to use racist language to describe this incident.

Intimidated in what way? Afraid that they were going to get some mean looks for wearing their racist shirts? Well, good. Afraid that they were going to be harmed in any way or the object of any illegal action? bullshit. If they were afraid of that, it’s only because they’re racists who think that Indians are savages.

Mob indeed.
