Thanks, all. {hugs} to all.
I think I should now drag my [del]ass[/del] [del]butt[/del] behind off to the coffee shop.

The alarm dog slept in; but the internal clock woke me anyway.
The weather is sunny, dry and low 20’s; my sinuses are happy.
I baked assorted flavor mini muffins and have various spreads and whipped butters for your enjoyment.
One good thing about being laid off for so long is no TPTB. I am the all powerful one! Ha! Tremble at my power
hey
you
tremble
Physically, like I’ve been hit by a truck. Psychologically, my givadammer is FUBARed today.
yeah. This.
Wait a minute; Little Nemo’s parents live inside of you?
Yay! We’re having a heat wave. It’supposed to get to 51F today.
We’re hearing those two words Burghers hate in the winter - “lake effect”. But at least we aren’t Buffalo. Some of the pics I’ve seen are just unbelievable. Worse than the Endless Mountains growing up!
No. I did the whole truck in my living room thing in 2001.
Blurf.
Slept 14 hours straight last night, prob’ly due to antihistamines, and have megablurf this morni… uhh… afternoon.
You can’t think I’m rich folks Midget- I’m barely scraping the rent together every month, for a room in a house share, and I don’t have any kind of degree at all, I dropped out of Uni.
I know what you mean though, out of my group of friends, most own houses and have really good jobs, several have PhDs, and I’m the one feeling all excited like I’ve taken a step up in the world ‘cos I’m now working one day a week answering the phone at a drain fixin’ company.
Of course, I also know a bunch of hippies who live in vans, and live by performing, but they at least seem to have a much more interesting life than I do. I seem to have wound up with the worst of both worlds.
Anyway, I should probably get dressed 'n stuff and do stuff while there’s some daylight left.
I think I shall avoid trucks today, they seem to be causing a lot of mumper problems…
Always good advice.
Twelve years ago my husband decided I was the source of all his problems and wanted a divorce. I had a good job, but going from two incomes to one is sobering. I remember debating buying a pair of slippers at Target “can I really afford $10?” Times were hard, but I survived, just had to learn to economize (thank you Ray Davies). Things are much better 12 years later. We all have had hard times but thanks to friends, jobs, parents, we will get through.
The idea that some random person out there in the world, who only knows you through an internet messenger board, gives a damn and thinks well of you is amazingly awesome.
Thanks again, all.
I have been trying to save money. As well as try to earn a little money online, though that’s not always entirely reliable.
Still living at home. I wish I could get a job downtown that pays enough to live on and I could live in a decent apartment in the Plateau like a good hipster.
I did not get a minion today for a stupid reason. Excuse me, I’ll be over in the workplace griping thread for a minute.
Happy Hump day, all!
Life in ABQ is going fine, my family all seems to be doing well, my friends, though they are all too far away from me now, are also doing well. So good thoughts and prayers for anyone who is in need - I still have a friend going through chemo, and she’s getting prayers every day. She’s off schedule now, though, until probably after the holidays, so hopefully she’ll be able to really enjoy the good food tastes and be comfortable with family and friends; she has a birthday coming up next week as well. I don’t need to relate the effects of chemo, I’m sure, hopefully this break will be a good one.
There are so many pets/cats/dogs in the animal shelters here, that a few weekends ago, they were practically giving them away. You need to qualify for adopting a pet first, though - have a place that allows them, enough room outdoors if you’re getting a dog, etc. I do understand that some folks want to have a pedigreed dog or cat, but my gosh, there are so many animals that do not have a home, the shelter ones are really in need.
We’re going to try out one of the Thanksgiving sides in the USA Weekend from this past Saturday, I think the one with sweet potatoes and honey crisp apples. It’s a sweet potato/apple gratin. LOL If it turns out tasty, it might make it onto the Thanksgiving table.
Hope the FairyChat’s are having a safe drive back home!
I just had some absolutely scrumptious paella! It was full of shrimpies, mussels, chikin, and pork along with saffron rice, red bell peppers, onions, and garlic. YUM! Da bear is stuffded. OYKW may end up chowin’ down on leftover lasagna all by himself tonight. I can’t imagine bein’ hongry the rest of the day. Did I mention I scarfed down three bowls full of paella?
kopek, I spent enough years in lake effect snow country that I’ll leave y’all have it. When I retire, I’m going somewhere where snow is a fluke.
tarragon918 - most of the cats my family has had over the years have come from shelters. We even currently have a rescued turtle! Not from a shelter, but someone found him on the side of a nearby highway some years ago, and gave him to our neighbour, who gave him to us.
Its also real-life tough sometimes too. I was on another board where the “owner” sorta flipped and totally did a vanishing act. It was a small place and few of us and no-one knew how to contact him or trace him in the real world. Did he die? Did he get over it? Is he OK or not? Almost two years later and none of us know.
So all ya’ll Mumpers – no fade outs please. I worry when that happens.
Just not like Mr Cello and going to Portland. Its weird in many cool ways but the non-snow-totally-normal weather there could drive me totally batty.
I have developed a new, very strange, and totally useless superpower apparently. I can be here at my desk busily irkin’ away and the phone won’t ring. Ok, that’s a good thing a lot of the time, but I digress. However, let me go to the gentlemen’s room and in five minutes time there will be at least three voicemails while I am availin’ myself of the facilities. This phenomenon has occured three times today.
