It's Monday Somewhere-an MMP

It’s Monday here on the East coast. It’s cold, gonna get colder, and the snow and ice starts in 18 hours. On the brighter side, I get to start at my new store tomorrow night.

hijack away!

I’m about to leave for work. I have to go in WAY early because, there’s a lot of baking to get done by 7:30 AM. The library is closed today, but President’s Day is when it holds in-service and continuing ed for the staff. So the cafe I work for has to feed them.

Blurf.

Second.

Gotta go to bed - it’s gonna be a long day doing news in the snow in the DMV tomorrow. Already volunteered to stay through the 11pm to help out.

Third! I’m up late. Those plants aren’t gonna shoot those zombies all by themselves you know.

4th. Up late too. Really need to try to sleep as I have a busy day tomorrow doing the cleaning and laundry that I didn’t do today.

Happy New Week to all.

Fifth! And after the juvenilities…it’s a wet and grey morning over my side of the Great Watery Divide but the good news is that it’s only 46 days until I go on holiday to sunny Sandy Egger and regions north.

It should be a quiet week all round for me, public transport is slightly more empty as it’s half-term break for the schools, and our students have reading week so there’s no teaching on campus - thus, hopefully, no academics coming in making life difficult by wanting things they can’t have.

As my birthday is creeping up, I am contemplating a weekend visit to ‘im indoors’ new place in Germany. I can work most of the Friday and slope off to the airport mid-afternoon, and get a flight back on Sunday evening so I don’t need to take any holiday days. Just need to work out what there is to do in the two places we’ll be vsiting.

Doggio - good luck knocking the new staffers into shape at the new store! Let me know if you need extra ninja troops…

Happy Moonday!

I’m up too early because I went to bed early. I didn’t even make it through Columbo.

It’s cold out, very cold out, 2 degrees.
It’s so cold my son woke me last night to tell me that not only can you see your breath outside, you can also see dog farts.
We were lucky up here not to get the high winds and I think we aren’t supposed to get as much snow, 3-5 inches.

I don’t have to go out and so I won’t

I ffeel sorry for anybody who has to irk outside in this

Nothing like seven whole degrees to start the day! Fortunately, the gusty winds are no more. Unfortunately, as **Tugig **pointed out in the last MMP, Snowpocalypse is approaching. They’re talking 8-12" overnight! Poor Higgs won’t be able to get out and pee in the morning if we get that much! During the last snowpocalypse, I was out shoveling an area in the back yard so Bernie and Scruffy could do their business. Guess I’ll be doing the same for Higgs. In fact, I’ll likely spend much of tomorrow shoveling, if this accumulation comes to pass.

I’m going to see if we can buy another ton of pellets. Unfortunately, this is the time of year when some stores begin to ration out their pellet supply. We’re good on heating oil, so we can survive without another ton, but it’d be nice to have extras to start next season. I’ll find out in a bit when R&D opens.

Beyond that, no plans of any consequence. I’ll probably do a load of whites, since we’re almost out of clean unders. **FCD **is sleeping in, which is good - he’s been pretty tired lately. In fact, I slept in till after 6 - Higgs must have been tired!!

Alors! Happy Moanday!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 44 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 68 and rain later today. I like this bein’ a bear of leisure on Moanday mornin’.

All y’all in the path of snowpocalypse take care. Make sure you have plenty of tp and French toast fixin’s on hand.

Shortly I shall purtify and go over to the church house to see what’s needed for tonight. Then I shall go purchase the necessities and take ‘em on over there. Matter of fact the next three days shall involve me bein’ at the church house. I have to be there tomorrow evenin’ to do bacon and snausages for the Shrove Tuesday pancake doin’s. It’s a big fundraiser for our Deacon’s ministry. Folks give a donation and pig out on pancakes, bacon, snausage, oj, milk, coffee and because we are Whiskypalians, there will be beer and wine available for an extra donation. It’s always fun. Wednesday evenin’ we shall need to venture back to the church house again bein’ as Wednesday is Ash Wednesday and ashes must be imposed. Guess all that goin’ over to the church house will make up for the fact I didn’t go yestiddy.

Ok, I need more caffeine and to get myself ready. I’m thinkin’ a bizkit from MickeyD’s will hit the spot whilst I am out and about.

Happy Moanday Y’all!

Irk is canceled.

We’re currently getting sleet with snow predicted to follow. I’m going to hunker down, make some chicken soup (I brought a cold back from up north) and maybe play some canasta with my neighbor. Stay warm, y’all.

It’s sunny and the sky is blue right now. But weather radar shows another kind of blue - the scary kind! dammit.

And it’s a good thing we have a tank full of oil because apparently the immediate world is sold out of hardwood pellets. Next year, we’re buying 3 tons. It’ll probably be a record warm winter then…

To: Texas.
From: Mother Nature
Re: reminder It’s still winter, y’all. Don’t let last Saturday fool you. Saturday was a lie!

To everyone who was up late… SNL 40th anniversary show?

Yeah, Texas was right comfy this past week and that’s about to change. Still a fur piece from you guys up in the NE. Good luck!

It’s okay - February 16th? We can see spring from here.

Had a really nice day yesterday. Had a long conversation with my first ex - the mother of my kids - about some troubles she’s dealing with. Longest conversation we’ve had since the words ‘I want a divorce’ were uttered.

I’m proud of how she is dealing with her troubles, and very happy how that conversation then turned into two good conversations with my children on the phone later in the afternoon. I’m feeling really good that my kids are doing well, that regardless of my differences with her my ex is raising them very well, and on the whole the future is looking bright for all us.

Really one of the better days I’ve seen in a long time.

Huzzah, Tugig! Glad that part of your life is going well. Too often we hear stories of battling exes with kids caught in the middle. Even when it’s not ugly, sometimes it’s just an annoying stressor (thinking about a good friend of mine dealing with her husband’s ex regarding their kids.)

**FCD **is out buying gasoline for our generator, just in case. The purchase should ensure that we won’t need the generator, right? But since pretty much everything in the house relies on power (like the well pump, the ignition for the furnace, and the auger for the pellet stove, to say nothing of lights and such) it’s prudent to be prepared for a power outage.

Temp is all the way up to 9°!!! And it’s starting to cloud over a bit. The band of blue on the weather radar is moving way too fast for my liking. **FCD **has already declared that if we get a foot of snow, he’s not going in. Duh! If we get a foot of snow, he won’t be able to get down the driveway!!

Winter sucks - have I mentioned that in the last 10 minutes?

Up, caffeinated, going to work this afternoon. The Snowpocalypse will start halfway through my shift.

How does Gordie do pulling a sled?

Pretty good. Till he sees SQURREL!

Minus forty and I have to go outside.

On the bright side, even though it was almost as cold yesterday, I went to a really great party! It was a 30th-birthday surprise party for a friend of mine, arranged by his fiancee. They’re such a lovely couple. And I got to see quite a few of my old friends.

No Snowpocalypse in no. Illinois. We had ours on Super Bowl Sunday. It’s Moanday and I have an appt. with the dermatologist this afternoon. Took 3 freakin 'months to get in. She better be the best darn derm in the world. I’m afraid she’s going to remove a cyst on my forehead and I’ll have a big @ss bandage.
