Webbs and Gibbses and Compton, Oh My!

Not too long ago I was adding movies to my Netflix que and I came across a documentary called “OT: Our Town,” which was about a Compton high school’s attempt to mount a production of Thornton Wilder’s “Our Town.” I thought it sounded interesting but was curious to find how kids from Compton, a place I’ve always perceived to be a gang infested and high crime area, would be able to relate to Wilder’s story. I got the film last night and holy crap, it was AWESOME. I was really genuinly moved by these kids and the way they were able to find the commonalities between Compton and Grovers Corners. I’ve been in productions of “Our Town” three times now and seen outside productions several times as well, but I’ve never been so moved by it. Any other dopers seen this? What were your thoughts?
