Website that aggregates airline prices?

I’m trying to book a flight to New Orleans for next month. Right now, it’d be cheaper to drive by about $100 after food and lodging (and not counting wear and tear, as well as having to sit in a car all day). $400 isn’t terrible - but I’d at least like to see how cheap/expensive this flight has been the last few months. Anything out there that collects that sort of data?

Here’s a snapshot of the emails that Kayak sends me on anything that I’m watching. As you can see it shows a limited history of about three weeks. So it looks like they do offer the trend data, but I haven’t looked into it enough to see if you can go back months.

I just clicked on the “check now” button and that takes you to the site where you can click on “show fare charts”. The resulting screen pop shows history going back 90 days.

Cool. A friend just recommended kayak as well. It’ll show you the best prices people have gotten for that month, but not that specific date. Still, it’s giving me a good idea of what to expect. Thanks!

Sidestep is pretty good as a search engine for travellers. However do be aware, hotels and airlines still run bargains that are only accessible by actually going onto their site.

Farecast used to do what you want, they were purchased by Microsoft so it looks like Bing now has that ability.
