Wedding Paraphernalia Question

I went to a lovely wedding yesterday. The bride and groom were a wonderful couple, with lovely families and friends, and a good time was had by all (so far as I could tell).

Along with the napkins with the bride and groom’s names and other assorted stuff, there were these things that looked like matchbooks also with the names, a cute graphic, and the date. Inside the things weren’t matches, but what appear to be pieces of blank paper.

No one at my table at the reception could declare with certainty what they were supposed to be - and I didn’t want to ask the couple right there (“Hello,” “Congratulations,” “It was a beautiful ceremony,” “Best wishes,” and “You both look so wonderful and happy!” are things I feel comfortable saying “What the hell is this thing?” isn’t.)

So, anyone know what this thing is?

Were they sheets of rice paper?

Often there are fragile translucent pieces of paper to protect the cards…

wag: when smoking was common, some folks collected matchbooks. Maybe these are the P.C. versions.

It looks like the notebooks.

Thank you!
