Wedding Registries are rude and just plain tacky.

The 300 watt unit is worth the extra coin.

Agree that it’s tacky and rude to “force your registry information” on people. But the practice itself is, imho, great. I’m super busy, I’d rather go to a place where I know I’ll be getting something that will go with the couple’s decor and that they actually want, than to wander around trying to figure out WHAT THE HECK to GET these people.

Someone had mentioned “what’s wrong with having a 'go-between hinter”??? Um, what’s the difference between that and a registry? Other than the registry is more convenient, fun and practical for both the couple AND their guests?

Count me as saying it’s rude and tacky to NOT consider what the bride and groom may want (IF you’re going to buy gifts that is) resulting in them ending up with a dozen unused picnic baskets.

No, you don’t HAVE to buy gifts, and it’d be rude and tacky to insist upon it, but for those who ARE planning on buying gifts, I for one consider the registry to be a Godsend!
