Wednesday - Season 2 (last 4 episodes drop September 3, 2025)

I have NOT seen episode 3 yet.
The original idea was to have a separate thread for part 2. But since the low number of posts should we just add part 2 to this thread and get the title changed.

Brian

Tell me the title change. Please keep it here though.

I’ll wait for a consensus, but if it is agreed to have both parts in one thread it would be:
Wednesday – Season 2 parts 1 and 2

Brian

No sure why I thought there were 3 episodes and not 4 in part 1. I did watch both episodes. Since LOIS was in all caps in was pretty obvious it was an acronym of some sort.

Unless I hear objections soon, will request the title change.

Brian

I would just truncate to:

Wednesday - Season 2

I like Wednesday - Season 2 (last 4 episodes drop September 3, 2025)

The title has changed (Thanks!)
This thread now covers both parts 1 and 2 of season 2

While not as good as season 1, I still find it worth watching.

Brian

I didn’t see a Freaky Wednesday episode coming, but that was fun.

I made it through three episodes but I am (sadly) bailing.

I enjoyed the first season so much, but really just could not get into this season. I hate the Pugsly-zombie sub-plot SO much, and overall the whole thing seems … meaner? than last season. Like it’s just kind of a drag, and there are too many things going on distracting from Wednesday’s main storyline.

A big disappointment for me.

I’ve finished season two, and other than the mentioned body swap episode it has overall been a big disappointment compared to season one. And I thought the big Thing reveal was a shark-jumping event.

It was a pleasant enough way to spend four hours tonight. I do agree that I would prefer Thing not have a backstory. I’m embarrassed that I didn’t pickup on the anagram.

BTW, meant to ask earlier: when Thing is (apparently) fingerspelling answers to questions, is he doing it right? He does it so fast, I’m just wondering if they actually found an actor who is deaf or had deaf parents or something.

No info on that but, “Victor Dorobantu is a professional magician, actor, hand actor, and creature performer”. He’s also apparently something of a contortionist to be able to maneuver his body around props and sets to keep is hand oriented correctly.

Thing seems to mostly use some sort of tapping/dancing fingers technique rather than the signing I’m familiar with.

I think real sign language requires both hands and arm movements? So if there is “real signing”, it would be like mumbling with a mouth full of marbles is to talking?

I wasn’t thinking of ASL, which absolutely requires more motion and often both hands, a real problem for Thing. But there is at least one system of finger positions to correspond to each letter of the english alphabet that takes a single hand, so that might be a workable option. (Well, workable once you accept an independent hand as a being with a brain….)

Why did it take me so long to notice that Billie Piper who played Rose Tyler (a/k/a Bad Wolf) on Doctor Who and in Wednesday she plays a werewolf, who may be bad (please no spoilers)

Brian

SPOILERS AHOY!
I finally watched all of season 2.
I’m not sure Billie Piper is a BAD wolf – though not exactly good either (helping Tyler)
Cool to see the origin of Thing (though the Isaac Night → Thing letter transformation was strained)
Also nice to see Gomez explained.
I can’t imagine Enid will stay a werewolf for all of season 3 – though maybe an episode or 2.
Speaking of, Season 3 is confirmed though it may be 2027 before we see it (no official date)
Overall I liked it.

Brian

Consistently a fun show in an age without a lot of fun shows.

I don’t think I ever gave much thought to where Thing might have come from, which strikes me as mildly odd. I appear to have just accepted this disembodied hand scuttling across the floor without any thought as to, you know, WHOSE hand it might have been.

I always thought Thing from the sitcom was not a disembodied hand, but instead was someone trapped in a dimension where the only space he had to interact was through a narrow portal inside a magic box.

Then the 90s movie developed that into an actual hand scuttling around, basically because VFX now allowed that so why not show that off?

For the Wednesday series they are developing so much new lore it’s kind of inevitable that every character’s history will get explored.
