52 #26: Meh.
52 #27: Loved the part with Ralph and Eclipso. Poor Charlie.
52 #28: I like that they fixed Batwoman’s mask so that she doesn’t look like she has a five-head. “Bite me, my child.” Heh.

Ghost Rider BTW is kinda confusing. WHich demon is currently bonded to Jonny Blaze? Or is it even a demon? SO far I haven’t seen him transform back, just ride around all over the place, blow up his old trailer and KO Doc Strange. What the hell is going on with that book? Does everyone else get it, or am I Just some kind of brain damaged retard?
Tell me about it…are they still trying to paint Jameson/The Bugle as a Fox News analogue? (Yeah…being opposed to untrained, unregulated masked vigilantes running roughshod over the country. That’s sure a hallmark of right-wing thinking, ain’t it?)
He’s transformed back.
In escaping hell, Johnny/Zarathos unknowingly brought Lucifer with him. Lucifer’s essence was split into 666 parts. As Johnny/Zarathos hunt the parts, with each part defeated, the remaining get stronger.
Teen Titans #40: Saw the traitor twist coming a mile away, but still enjoyed it. I didn’t see the end coming though. I thought the Door between life and death was shut. What the heck?
Green Lantern #14: I call sheninagans. Just how low a charge would the ring have to be at to not be summoned?
Flying mecha man-jet (so last year)? Taking lessons from Rayner it seems.
Birds of Prey #100: Sigh, I miss Canary already. Good story without her though.
OK and how did he get to hell in the first place? Last I remember (its been since the mid-90’ since I kept up with GR) Blaze was no longer bonded to any demon, but could still summon the hell fire, using a shot gun. He had some medalion inbeded in his body. And the Current GR and Caretaker (being played by Same Elliot in the new flick ) had to save him. Get me up to speed please, casue I’ve always liked this whole spirt of vengence thing. Maybe I should just wiki him and stop bothering you peope
Don’t know about the rest, MM. Last I remember, some other dude was channeling Zarathos. Don’t know how it came back to be Blaze. The series opens with Zarathos being tortured in hell, and I never try to figure out the continuity - makes my head hurt.
Joey wasn’t really dead, so much - he was downloaded onto the computer disk Raven stole. No soul to drag from the afterlife, no opening the door.
…
WHAT.
Souls don’t work like that!
Sure they do. Right now, I’m considering whether I want to be Blue-ray or HD. My wife, however, says I could fit on a floppy, uncompressed, with room to spare.
Blame Geoff Johns. I usually enjoy his writing, but that bit of his work left a foul taste in my mouth.
Is there a “way souls work” committed to canon, and relatively uncontradicted?
Ghost Rider used to be my fave. In concept and look he still is but damned all if I understand the current status.
Johnny and Zarathos got separated at the end of the original GR run in the 80s. The 90s Ghost Rider (bonded to Danny ketch) was NOT Zarathos and Zarathos was an entirely different character and major villain in the series.
Johnny’s shotgun got imbued with hell fire by the 90s Ghost Rider.
Danny Ketch I believe was killed and Johnny took over the mantle of GR again.
Hey, Optimus Prime’s soul fits on a floppy. You got good company.
Down, fangirl. I’m just kidding. But really, a CD? I guess memory sticks weren’t big when Johns wrote that part.
Supes Confidential #1: I bought it because I enjoyed the art (Hey Lois, Inoue (opens a Flash cartoon) called. She wants her boobs back.). I was expecting a one-shot. Damn. I’m interested enough in the story to pick up the next issue though.
Jericho had the power to possess people. He tried it on Cyborg. Oops.
Probably not, since that story was written a few years ago.
And I wasn’t trying to be sarcastic, for once. I was curious whether they’d canonized some final word on soul mechanics in a book I haven’t read. I’ve read a bunch of Spectre, and I’d think if they worked it out anywhere it would be there. But it’s still pretty nebulous.
BTW Just FYI. I was checking out Midtown Comics and they have all the issues of the 52 in at least Near Mint Condition, for 2.10 each. Not a bad deal if you missed one or two (or in my case about 15.) And they ship all over. If you’re lucky enough to live in NYC, they have two stores on 42nd (one of the east side, one of the west) and offer a $20 rebate for every $100 you spend.
Just throwing it out there
