I hate when people can’t shut up about the stupid tabloid headlines.
I’m sorry to report that the denizens of the message boards at the WWN are… exactly what one would expect.
You guys forgot to mention two of the most important reasons for the WWN’s popularity: Dear Dotti and Ed Anger. I buy the paper for those two columns alone.
Honest. The WWN briefly had a weekly series on the
USA network. Stories I recall-man invents marshmallow trees, beauty queen injured by exploding fruit, interview with the world’s most boring man, people who keep dead loved ones in glass cofffins-and use them as coffee tables, and of coures stories on the bat boy-complete with video.
Sadly I don't have any episodes on tape, I was pig-biting mad when they cancelled that series.
Ed Anger's columns were collected into a book Let's Pave Over The Rain Forest And Give The Teachers Stun Guns! I have a theory that bringing this book in contact with one of Unca Cecil's will have the same effect as combining matter and antimatter.How come everything’s been deleted?
I seem to recall reading somewhere that the WWN and the NE share offices and that because of the laughter eminating from the WWN offices the folks at NE had to have theirs sound proofed. One wonders if the WWN is a “drug-free” workplace or a “free-drugs” workplace. I’m betting on the latter (and if true, I’ll probably be sending 'em a resume ;)).
Asked postcards:
Well, you see, my question unfortunately led those adolescents to post mundane, pointless replies.
A quick perusal of the board revealed that those replies were likely to be the most authoritative I was going to get.
So, after briefly posting a response that said something like “Carnivore is recording your thoughts through the aura in your fingers as you type, so I already have everything I need to know,” I deleted both the question and the retort.
No need to lead those folks here, don’t you know. Some folks can be washed of ignorance, others bathe in it.
I think the time has come to move this to MPSIMS
