Weezer’s new single is a song called “Island in the sun” and I knew words to it the first time I heard it. Since I don’t have the cd it’s on, and I doubt they played it when I saw them in 97’ I assume it’s a cover song. However, at least 12 bands have songs by this title according to cdnow. The only cover I can think of that Weezer has done is the Pixies’ “Velouria” from the Pixies tribute album.
