Thanks for the recipe Washte. Congrats on breaking the plateau GingerOfTheNorth. I’m extremely worried that I have gained. In my last post I mentioned a little burn out. Well, since we had off of work yesterday there was no WW meeting. I think I’m going to take a little stroll downstairs today and weigh myself on the scale in the weight room. I’m so nervous!!!
Well, just got back from stepping on that scale…HOLY CRUD!!! How did I gain 50 pounds!!! :Turns around and sees Washte on the scale. WHEW!!!:
Well, according to the scale downstairs I’m the same as I was last time I weighed in at my meeting. Now, we use a different scale - so I’m not sure how compatible these two are - but I’ll take it! WOO HOO!
Don’t be afraid to jump back on the wagon skittles. Frustrations can really take a toll on motivation and will-power. Trust me. Some days I feel like saying feck it - I’ve been fat all my life, what’s a few more weeks? All too easy to spiral into oblivion of eating willy-nilly and getting the fat clothes out again.
I have a question! Please, please see if you can get this info for me.
I was on WW and doing smashingly, but was diagnosed with diabetes ( my sugar was waaaaay high) and had to stop WW to go to a diabetes nutritionist. Lemme tell ya-- it’s hard not to gain weight on the diet they put me on.
However, my sugar has been within normal range for over 6 months and I would like to go back to WW. Does anyone have any info on WW and diabetes?
None that is immediately available to me, Biggirl. However, since you eat what you like with WW, shouldn’t you be able to tailor it to your needs? Perhaps the WW staff person in here will come in and say that it’s just an extra couple of points or something.
Not 100lb-- just 46. I gained back 20 of those when I tore my ACL, 10 which I have subsequently lost. So I’ve got a net loss of 36lbs.
When the nutritionist gave me the meal plan I calculated the points— 37!!! I cut out the 2 snacks and substituted lower point foods. I managed not to gain any weight but certainly didn’t lose any. That is until the NY Dopefest. Stupid hurt knee.
Biggirl, I’m a diabetic and not having any problems. My sugar levels are steady and low - very well controlled. Basically, I’m ignoring dietician advice (put on weight following her rules) and using nutritional knowledge to regulate my blood sugar and sticking to my points (28).
I would suggest talking to your dietician. While mine was a complete nincompoop who refused to continue seeing me after I put on over 2kg in 3 weeks following her advice, I hope yours is much better and is willing to discuss other possibilities with you.
On top this, PCOS plays havoc with both diet and diabetes. It seems a very vicious cycle - each affecting the other - and making weight loss extremely difficult.
If you’d like to chat about diabetes and WW, please feel free to drop me a line.
