Wow! Didn’t remember this was here. Tomorrow will mark the end of my first week on Weight Watcher’s. I joined entirely based on these enthusiastic recommendations, but had the vague impression that they were in the Weight Loss Club thread.
It looks like I have lost about 4 or 5 pounds this week. Working out the points system was actually pretty fun, and I figured out a good breakfast that I really like - 1/2 cup fat-free egg substitute, one Boca breakfast patty chopped up, one medium flour tortilla, and 1/2 cup of salsa to dip it in.
My only regret is that I finally got a good enough grasp on the system to bank up some points, and now they’ll disappear because I’m weighing in!
Hello all my SDMBWW chums.
So far I have lost 2 stone and 2 pounds, which is 30 pounds in American!!
I am delighted and indeed am wearing a pair of trousers today that I doubted would ever see the light of day again!
According to Weight Watchers, I have another 2 stone to go, but I don’t see me ever losing that much - another stone would even be excessive, I think.
I mean, come on, I’ve got hip bones you can see my ribs!
If I had to be super duper critical, I’d say I could stand another bit off my legs, but as I was swanning about in shorts at the weekend, I’m obviously not too bothered!!
Keep it up, everyone and thanks for all the SDMB support so far
So curly chick, you know that you can set whatever weight you want as your goal, don’t you? If it’s different than what’s in the WW weight range, you just need to bring in a doctor’s note that says something to the effect of “curly chick’s healthy weight should be XXX lbs”.
Don’t kill yourself trying to fit into a range that doesn’t make sense, and don’t walk away from getting to goal and following maintenance just because you’re eyeballing a different number. It’s not necessary.
scout 1222, you’re right and don’t worry, I have no notion of walking away.
I can’t think I’ll go to the doctor for a letter, though, it seems a bit of overkill to me. I am just happy to have lost this much, so easily and I will mention it to the lovely Vera, who runs our class and see what she has to say.
Congratulations to you, Washte and to Kal
If you are bored, there’s always the Harry Potter five-ology
(What the hell would that be called? Cincology? Naah)
Nice word curly chick - cincology… Unfortunately not keen on the Harry Potter craze. Gonna plait my hair and get some polish to paint the puppy’s nails
Any loss is better than none Mockingbird. Keep up the good work!
Checking in here. Officially began again last Monday and haven’t done terribly - however, I don’t know why my resolve sucks. Last night, I did beautifully until about nine o’clock. And since I rarely eat after 8 PM - this was new. I broke into a Kit-Kat in the cupboard. Why? Beats me.
However, I had friends here this weekend, and I got a picture in email of myself on Sunday. I look awful. This time last year, I was 130 lbs. Now, I’m almost 30 lbs above that. I can blame some of it on an accident, but the rest is pure laziness. I need to get myself healthy soon. I do NOT want to be fighting with my weight up until my wedding in a year and a half - I want to LOSE the weight and not have to worry about it anymore. And when I lost my 40 lbs two years ago, it felt a hell of a lot easier than this does.
Ugh. Sorry for the self-pity. I know what I need to do to get back on track, you know? I just can’t seem to do it. I start with good intentions every day, but some days, I just slip.
Anyway, I’m trying to get back in gear - I started this thread to compile some easy, healthy foods to get together, so if anyone has any good contributions, please stop by:).
Good luck, all - congrats on the losses this week, too:).
So, I messed up during July, as I was away for most of the month. I was home visiting, and my Ukranian step-mother makes the most amazing food in the world. So the initial 8 that I lost, then re-gained 5, then down 3 - my gym’s monthly weigh-in read at only 3 lbs down between June 17 and July 25. Ugh.
To help with hunger: drink concord grape juice diluted 2:1, 3 oz’s before each meal and at bedtime. Sip for 10 minutes and wait 30 minutes to eat. This satisfies your bodies “craving” for sugar and helps control insulin resistance.
