The issue he has now isn’t that he sent the pictures his base doesn’t care, he was never a family values candidate, him lying about it will hurt him. Coming clean will help him recover. Americans however are used to being lied to by politicians.
I question how much this whole series of events will even hurt him. I’d give him a 70% chance of carrying on and winning elections. He probably can’t rise beyond congress now, no mayor or governor in his future now IMO.

I agree that he probably won’t be Senator Weiner or Mayor Weiner or Governor Weiner. But he only has to keep his district, and that shouldn’t be too hard to do. The election is over a year away. This will seem like a stale issue by then.

When this story first came out, i was perfectly willing to believe that he had, in fact, had his Twitter account hacked, or possibly used for nefarious purposes by someone on his staff (heh heh).
But his lame-ass answers over the past week made him look more, rather than less, guilty, and today’s performance was just fucking pathetic.

I saw the live thing with Blitzer and knew the weasel was lying when he didn’t react to the question about getting internal authorities involved.
I’d have gotten one of those geeks on the air with me to assure my constituents that everything was being done to track down who did this.
