Only on this site, my mouse will no longer highlight to cut/paste/copy.
I have removed recent cookies, etc last hour. But still the problem persists.

It works for me.
Is there any chance that you were “working” in a Preview screen and not in a message screen? (My cut and copy still work there, but I have seen e-mail software where copy/paste/cut only works in a active screen.)
Nope, still cant.
how are the cookies for this site worded?
Try switching to the other Straight Dope style. Mine will work only on v 3.7.3
This doesn’t sound like a cookie issue to me.
Have you, intentionally or not, switched editor modes? There’s a button on the upper right part of the message area (above the smilies) that changes the editor mode.
If that’s not it, try clearing your cache, close all your browser windows, and make sure that there aren’t any more browser tasks running in the background.
You can also try the Microsoft fix (reboot the computer), if you haven’t already tried that.
What OS and browser are you using?
Cut, copy, and paste, as a matter of fact just highlighting something cannot be done on my computer unless I am using version 3.7.3 of the sultanthemes.
I see a button that is called: 'wrap Code tags…" and another that says “wrap PHP tags…” But no editor modes button.
I am using a Mac with chrome.
I have tried restarting, logging in & out and clearing my cache, but only 1 hour back.
But it works in Safari.
I did, and that works, thanks. :):):):)
Where are the smilies? I can’t figure out where to go to see editor mode or smilies (windows 10, firefox, and I tried in both versions of the SDMB).
Yes, I’ve just found this. It’s the latest Chrome update to 67.0.3396.62 that’s done it. As Tom Terrific said, you need to switch away from Sultan’s Theme.
N/m - dupe
I wondered if this was connected with the Chrome update and knew that Dopers would be on the ball with a solution. Switching themes did indeed work. Many thanks, Tom Terrific, you certainly lived up to your handle!
Before, this was a CSS caching issue. So if you do a hard refresh, it may fix it. Hard refresh is Ctrl-F5, or possibly Cmd-F5 on a Mac. The underlying issue would be that the highlights are still there, but not visible.
It’s possible that the update has changed how that same CSS is parsed. Maybe such a basic broken functionality will finally mean we’ll get back to fixing the theme.
If you like the newer theme better than the older one, I will tell you that my Theme fixer still works. I personally prefer it to the older theme.
I do recommend Tampermonkey for a problem-free experience, though. Greasemonkey is still having compatibility troubles with scripts since Firefox moved to Quantum.
Mouse-and-highlight works for me in Safari, and in Exploder. Yesterday at the office I was using Chrome, and it didn’t work on Chrome.
