Although YahooAnswers is a crapshoot of a source your comment here is as bad as the YahooAnswers one when it comes to pronunciation. You need to “think in English” to get it. Look up words ending in “ese” in English and they will have a pronunciation given as “nēs”. A Swedish i is shorter than that, and just “is” would have been a better choice, but “go-dis” is not going to be reliably interpreted as something giving the correct Swedish pronunciation, especially not the “go” part.
