PB&J with cheese, preferably Kraft Singles
Scrambled egg and sharp cheddar on cinnamon-raisin bread
Waldorf salad (apples, grapes, walnuts and celery with mayo) on rye bread
Grilled PB&J is also good, and I also love doing an open faced thing under the broiler with thinly sliced tomato, onion and green pepper, sprinkled with Italian seasoning (basil, oregano, rosemary, I think) and topped with provolone. Mmmmm, yummy. Not necessarily weird, though, I guess.
Several times during this pregnancy I have found myself dining on facon (veggie bacon) and apple butter sandwiches on potato bread, the sweet kind. It’s really not an odd flavor combo, when you think about it.
Looking over this thread, I think a lot of people agree on one thing: POTATOES ARE GOOD IN SAMMICHES! We have potato chips, hash browns and French fries. And potato bread. I also use to eat mashed potato and gravy on buttered white bread sandwiches.
Ham on raisin bread before my veggie days was good.
Me too! Gravy bread sandwiches! We used to eat these open-faced, with the bread so sogged up you needed a spoon. Kind of like stuffing without the onions and celery.
Rockle, no, you’re not weird. Standard grilled cheese MUST be on white bread. And I’m pretty much a whole grain bread person 98% of the time, so it’s not like I’m a white bread cheerleader. Tuna, though, is good on wheat or rye.
On the other hand, I may not be qualified to confirm your normalcy.
