Weird Security Gremlins (Windows 7)

I’ve got a new computer with Windows 7 and Office 2010. I’ve got a couple of weird security gremlins that I can seem to shake. I can’t even figure out where to look for answers. I’m not a deep geek, but I’m not completely clueless either. This has got me flummoxed. Any help, or any good websites, you can give me is greatly appreciated.

Gremlin 1: In Outlook, I can’t click a link and have it open. Message is: This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. I have to copy the URL. (I’m pretty savvy about what links I will or will not follow and tend to lean toward caution – not sure? no clickie.) I found a setting that seemed to address that in Outlook, but it was set as I’d expect it and it didn’t change anything.

Gremlin 2: I can’t add or delete favorites in Internet Explorer. I can go through all the motions, but nothing changes in my favorites.

FWIW, I’ve got the Norton Security stuff that’s free with my Comcast account. I couldn’t find anything in those settings that seemed to be related to these two issues.

My partner got the same computer at the same time but she’s not having these issues.

Help? Please?
