WEIRD, weird, probably best forgotten movies

That must be what I saw. Funny how all that stuck was the awful beginning. And it was awful. And to not include Alec or the World’s Tallest, Shortests, Fattest, Thinnest Man was heinous. AND to have songs? WTF?

So, as you can see–this film did not please 8 year old me when it was released. You must understand that TPT is a holy book of sorts in this house–so any tampering with text etc is bound to elicit a negative reaction.

Was the animation good? (I liked the Dot and the Line, so perhaps it was.) I have no recall of it at all…

This was on TV the other night, late. I didn’t catch it all, but what I saw was…bizzare. I did a search and luckily this recent thread popped up, looks like it’s in plenty of other "bad movie/weird movie threads.

A film I got sucked into late late late one night:

The Cars that Ate Paris

Strange Austrailian town of people who crash cars, drink beer, and kidnap people.

What about the movie house? Iris so wanted to watch this movie almost two years ago for halloween. We had to buy a copy just to see it. I has Geroge Wendt and Richard Moll. Very strange.

Angel . “High school honor student by day. Hooker by night.” Not only is it bad, it spawned at least two sequels. I wish I could find Joe Bob Briggs review of it.

Bizarre, and certainly best forgotten - it features Judge Reinhold and Phil Hartman. Tommy Smothers and Pee-Wee also put in appearances (I don’t think this was such a stretch for old Pee-Wee, though):

“Pandemonium” (1982) is full of utter ridiculousness.

But I was just on the verge of becoming a teenager when it came out, so it appealed to me.

Boxing Helena gets my vote. I wish I had never seen it.

Electra

I rented the “unrated” version. Why was it unrated? Because if you put a “PG” on a Shannon Tweed movie, no one would touch the #@$% thing!

Apparently, Ms. Tweed understands that she will not be able to to “erotic thrillers” forever, and she is attempting to branch out into other genres. This was not a successful attempt.

With a little more effort, it might have been a good soap opera.
With a little more effort, it might have been a good sci-fi movie.
With a little more effort, it might have been a good action/adventure movie.
With a little more effort, it might have been a good porn movie.
Unfortunately, it never quite succeeded at any of those.

Two pages and no one’s mentioned “Eraserhead” yet?

Eraserhead is a movie that shouldn’t be forgotten. It’s very useful in stunning people who don’t normally watch weird movies.

I remember the first time I saw it. I sat staring at the screen long after the credits had finished rolling.
