No vig kill. This tells us that there is no compulsory vig, probably.
SpEd was VT. Looking back over Day 1, he was highly critical of the cases on both Tom Scud and BSPI. He stood on a few toes in doing this (Joey, Alka and probably others - I’ll admit that I’m being hasty with my rereads of his posts).
FS is VT. Spent most of Day 1 defending Tom’s conclusions. Didn’t point the finger much.
Just by blind examination I see no obvious conclusions, but then I am near my bed time. All I can say is that while Night 1 was memorable, if only at the end, we need to put aside our passions and work with cool heads.
Don’t be a twerp. NAF posted that gigantic post (which probably took him 20 minutes to prep) something like 4 minutes after the end of day post. The anti-strategy rules aren’t intended to make a ‘gotcha’ situation.
Pleonast’s Conspiracy Mafia allowed the Witches (a pro-town group) to communicate even after death, and to vote on their targets. Why do you think it’s pertinant?
Oh, the post after time thing. Meh, I would hope that the mod would tell us if he modkilled someone. I would especially hope that he would tell me if I was the person he killed.
Okay, so we have Freudian Slit as a townie, and Special Ed nightkilled.
From the way things played out, I think we can guess that there may well be powers that can act on people during the night after their death, and not revealing the alignment of a lynchee immediately may be intended to make those powers more hazardous to use. Alternately, it could affect the scum powers somewhat.
I don’t see anything about the way the deaths have played out that gives me any reasons to change my suspicions yet. Vote Cucuy.
Meeko advice corner! I wouldn’t assume there’s anything terribly Gastardly about the game until we get concrete evidence thereof–Mahaloth, after all, is not Idle Thoughts. (watch the latter appear now that I’ve taken his name in vain).
So, assuming this is true: why all the mentions of the Crimson Thorns? Are they a distraction, or what? And who do you think did the nightly killings? Vigilante? SK?
I was going to respond to the “what if there are no scum” question, but then decided that it really is a silly conversation to even have.
So…what does everyone feel about a mass claim? I don’t think we brought that one up yesterDay.
(and yeah, I really would like to go though the end of yesterDay again and post my catchup thoughts, but I don’t know if I will be able to in the next few hours. But I left off right before Storyteller’s big post, so I know where to start up again. And it might be time to start looking at some of those pages I refferenced earlier in the game too. See who did what now that we know who Ed and FS are.)
Geeze, NAF I was kinda hoping you would put up some defense but basically all you’ve got is “wasn’t me but then I could be scum”. I think I’m going to continue my vote from yesterday that case is looking better with such a week defense.
Just the Opposite Boozy, I’m with you, I am not asking for his death, at all. I just noticed, that on the face of it, he did post after the time limit. And, given that factually, it was after the limit, the question had to be asked.
Just lingering thoughts from F.S. delay in alignment notification.
I saw posted elsewhere, and will respond here ::
We started off with a Lynch. That kill is a given.
F.S. could then haven been given a vote, much like a ghost, or she could have become a Crimson Thron outright. From there, her vote, the only vote would make for the NK.
3.Why all the color with the Thorns? Well, I doubt it would make for much of a game if Mahaloth started off the OP with “Mafia – Only this time there is no Scum to start with!”
I highly doubt that set up would present itself.
All I know, is that this Mafia game has been the most… unusual I have ever played. Period.
So far the only unusual feature from my viewpoint is the delayed reveal of the deceased’s identity, and that’s not all that odd–it certainly happens in variations elsewhere (such as “only certain people can investigate corpses” or “the identity isn’t given out expressly, just clues in their possessions/personal effects”).
Can you characterize more fully the events/situations in the game structure that have struck you as unusual?
Zeriel, I noticed this too. I assume you mean to reference the “X is 100% Dead” verbiage?
I find that to be strange as well.
Does anyone else care to jump in on “” 100% Dead “” ?

I would ask Mahaloth,** but not only is he not answering me, he’s not even saying that he’s not answering me.
No, no. You named them all. That and the actual default of not talking at night.
Just for my third game of Mafia, the first to have both of these rules in effect, it is making for, a learning curve, from Glyph and LOST.
I’m not saying I have added information. I don’t. I am just making a baseline observation here, based on this game, on my entire (2 games) MAFIA experience.
