That’s a great idea. I’ll use that one in the future, thanks.
Correction:
That should be no-death-reveal-until-Dawn.
Sorry, I thought it was obvious. I don’t have any protect power so sleeping with our investigator would do no good. While there is a possibility of a doctor, since I give out a message when i sleep with someone I assume the Doc would as well so if someone were protected the could contradict me. My vote was based on the assumption that one of the main goals of the roleblocker is the stop the kill when the scum have to pick an individual to perform it. Since I know who I blocked and there was no kill it is a pretty easy assumption to the fact that they were the person to carry out the kill last Night. I think that adds to Joey’s case considerably.
I did create a tie with my vote. I though the case against Mental was the strongest and wanted to put my vote there. Unfortunately, I have my board time screwed up so I thought there were 6 hours left until Dusk but when night fell I still had board time as 8:00.
I’m confused a bit here. We have Oredigger claiming to be, Slut, a Town aligned Role Blocker and he’s been naming his targets (including being ‘confirmed’ by AllWalker). And then we have **MentalGuy **who we now KNOW was a Scum aligned Prostitute.
Are we to assume that the role of ‘Prostitute’ is a Role Blocker too? I don’t think we can jump to that conclusion. If we are going to make that assumption then someone else needs to come forward and admit they had a ‘good night’, as it were. Or are we also assuming **MentalGuy **didn’t use his role on Night 1? Is it possible that **Oredigger **and **MentalGuy **were both scum and Oredigger, knowing who **MentalGuy **had ‘slept with’ the night before, used that information to make a false claim?
But that’s not even the most confusing part. Yesterday we had a tie between **MentalGuy **and **Oredigger **but **MentalGuy’s **vote was for JoeyP. He could have easily come in and made a self-protecting vote against **Oredigger **to break the tie. I suppose it’s possible he just never came back to the thread prior to the end of the Day. But where were votes from all the missing people? I’m almost guilty of failing to place a vote and I certainly didn’t like putting a vote in at the last minute, but I set my alarm to get up specifically to make a vote and to avoid a tie. I know from personal experience that I don’t want **Mahaloth **modding the ties!
Mentalguy had 11 posts in this game.
Should we look at other lurkers, or people not <gulp> lurking?
It makes sense to me that the person giving it away for free is good while the person charging for it is bad. Considering how many town power roles we have had claim it isn’t too surprising that the scum had a role blocker to even things out.
As for the whole claim thing if I was going to make up this role why would I choose slut since the groundwork for a prostitute with a hart of gold claim has already been laid.
Well, if we’re going to presume a Scum motivation, you knew eventually **MentalGuy’s **role would be revealed and then you’d be an easy target for the following Day. Much better to claim a role which is similar (and thus you can mirror his Night actions) but not the same.
You are mistaken on my opinion re MentalGuy. It’s not that I didn’t want him lynched; rather that all I had against him was that one pointer, and frankly it wasn’t very strong. I was hoping for a better lynch pointer than that.
I’d have settled for his lynch over any of the claimed power roles, until Oredigger forced the tie. His doing so made me wonder why he wanted a tie.
In case I did not make it clear enough, I know that Oredigger had claimed. He had claimed a role that is more suited to CT than Town (see: Drain Bead as Kaylee and then the Pleasure Model Replicant in successive games on Idlemafia), and had used the role on Night 1, when he should have stayed quietly at hme that Night. That, coupled with his tie-forcing, was enough to move him above Joey in my suspicion list.
Yes, it did. Oredigger admitted it. In fairness, he did also say he believed there were six hours to go, something which I had not noted. Nevertheless he created the tie, even though he thought there was a risk attendant in doing so and even though he speculated no-one might be around to break the tie.
On MentalGuy “suspecting” me, have you never seen a Mafiate list a group of people they were suspicious of and include no fellow-Mafiates? Don’t you say yes, or you will find yourself afire below the waist; Kat did it in the Cult of Sekham. I spent four nights investigating Pleo, FCoD, Malacandra and Sachertorte to find which one was a Sekhamite.
As for Joey, I held back on voting for him again until I had reread his Day 2 posts to determine whether he had addressed the issue which made me suspicious of him. By the time I’d read those posts again, we were close to Day’s end and I was getting mixed upp with the votecounts, obviously a concerted plot by CIAS and Pedescribe to make me look like a CT trying to get away with skimming.
Ok, Digger answered my first question, but I still need to check out the timeline on it.
My second question, “who asked if Digger was actually a prostitue?”, I found the answer to. Turns out it was…Meeko.
I found these interesting tidbits when I went digging back through Day 1.
Pede posts possible roles (it was a thing we were doing at the time)
Then many many posts later Meeko does a re read and comes up with this.
snipped because it was a long long post, bleached because I remembered
Meeko harps on this for several posts between him and Pede. Clearly, to Meeko, the Prostitue angle is important. Way more important than it is to Pede who doesn’t seem to bring it up much in the exchanges they have, but instead talks to Meeko about metagaming aspects of the case against him.
I don’t know where Pede falls into this (he was all over the research I did on MHaye too, but so far much of it looks innocent. But it is strange that even though he has only 30ish posts in two Days he is posting a lot with the people that I have looked into so far.) but it is a strange co-incidence that Meeko is so invested in the prostitue angle.
Nothing there yet for me. Only that I am reminded of Autolycus in the Pirates game. He had just played in M2 and posted in character as a 1920s stlye mobster the whole time and got lynched for it. So when he was scum with us in Pirates I suggested he pull the exact same stunt and always talk like a pirate, because no one would lynch him this time, but no one would read a damn word he had to say either. And here is Meeko who’s play style has calmed down after the start of the game…
I don’t know. Damned if you do damned if you don’t on that one Meeko. Your play really has imporved durring this game, I just wonder if that isn’t possibly because you are scum.
Still no vote. This case is much much weaker than what I have seen for MHaye and I still want to hear from Joey before I lay down any sort of vote for anyone.
Just getting my thoguhts out right now.
Very possible that you are telling the gods honest truth here MHaye. You are a slippery bastard as scum, and I am almost always able to find reasons to think you are town. The case is by no means rock solid (more solid than the case against Meeko which isn’t even really a case and more just an interesting coincidence that might mean nothing) and all I am getting right now is a tickle. That’s why I am not voting for you yet. But when I say you didn’t want MentalGuy lynched it’s not because of what you said, it’s because of what you did. Frankly you don’t look like you want Joey lynched all that much either, but you do seem to want Digger lynched and the evidence against him is flimsy.
While I am thinking about it, it seems strangely out of character for you to vote for a person who is a claimed power role so early in the game. You are generally a more cautious player than that, even if they do something you think is scummy. Metagamy? Yes, but not untrue.
As for the list, the list is only one piece of evidence, I would never ever use something like that as a sole reason to vote for someone. In this case it was just a reason for me to start looking at you. Ask Zeriel, I don’t often place stock in such lists, they can often be solidly honest. It is very possible that MentalGuy didn’t list a cohort in his list, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t look at the list anyway.
I believe that is a compliment. I will take it as such. Thank you. I really wanted to stay on par with Mahaloth in terms of post numbers. Maybe for my fourth game. Watch that game be the first game that I am scum in.
Then again, we got people thinking I am Power Town, Regular Town, and Scum.
**Well, I am one of those for sure. **
But more to the point, the entire pede as scum role blocker just struck me as odd, that he would suggest prostitute, but not associate role blocking with it.
And, I was kinda put into a place where I had to show you guys what I could do. It was something I noticed, and I thought I could go on it, and also bring you guys along for the ride.
So, it’s not so much that I am a scum roleblocker, just the opposite, I am town, trying to find a case to make, when I needed to make one. I think that, even if pede is innocent, my case can prove one thing - that I can play Mafia.
My .02 there. But,
I think overall, however, NAF, you are trying to agree with me, and not trying to attack me here. Do I have this correct?
I don’t know that I am doing either actually. I am mostly thinking out loud and trying to make connections. I say it leans on the scummy side for you and Pede, but I don’t know that I buy you two being scumbuddies. It’s not impossible but right now I am leaning toward it being less likely. So…whole lot of nothing right now. Maybe someone else will become inspired though, and it helps me organize my thoughts if I have to write them out so I figure it can only help to post.
Well, At least you are being honest about ripping me off. [Memento Reference]
**
How do I take your comments on my play improving then ? **
Assume for your argument that I am scum, wouldn’t I have to leapfrog myself to be THAT good at covering up? I could hardly keep my word hole shut when I have pro town things happen to me overnight.
I mean, it’s one thing for me to level up here (And I think we can all agree I have), but it is something entirely different to level up twice, and be this good at being scum.
NETA:
You were going to answer about not skimming?
Also, is there ever a situation where a COMPLETE WOW is not needed? That is to say, if I wanted to WOW someone, do I still have to go back to their confirmation of role post?
Hey guys! Sorry for my absence, got called in early today and just had time to check my PMs. And have I got news for you!
I investigated Storyteller last night and the results were: Crimson Thorns.
I am happy that I was not NK last Night.
But there is a caveat with my investigation: the words “Be Careful”, twice.
With this information I think we can immediately call for a vote on Storyteller. There is nothing in the rules that states we can or cannot hasten a Day by imposing a majority vote (like having 50 +1 % of people voting on the same person).
Also: the caution I received with my investigation results made me think that a vote on Storyteller may NOT lead to his death. He may be a Scotsman and able to escape the noose. We’ll come back to that later.
Another thought: Storyteller may have hidden powers and able to infect those who try to lynch him— like a Syphilitic Whore or a Mad Bomber.
I prefer to leave this information with those who are more skilled at this game than me. Let’s discuss this, and discuss our options. And consider how Today began: with a warning about scum having big plans.
vote Storyteller
I saw this and it seems relevant to my case:
(Bold text is mine)
This is what I mean when I say we must BE CAREFUL. Or at least I must BE CAREFUL, since the comment was directed to me.
O wise and benevolent Mod in the sky, can we hasten the Dusk with a majority vote on a player?
Bleached.
“Be careful” twice, huh? cucuy, assuming you are truthful in being what you say you are, my advice would be to unvote immediately. It might be that storyteller has some kind of vengence powers, and that maybe those powers can only target those who vote for him. If that is the case your role is too important to sacrifice.
Having said that, we can’t be afraid to lynch a Scum based on vague threats.
Cucuy, care to post the PM Mahaloth sent you?
Vote storyteller
A couple of quick game ideas while I have a chance which make sense to me at least.
storyteller being scum does not surprise me as much as I though it would.

I also very strongly suspect Oredigger77 as being scum despite his claim: see point 1.
One other thing to note. We do have a one shot vig, which might be more appropriate for the situation.
Definitely waiting for **JoeyP **to respond to **Oredigger77 **about last night.
