Weird Wild West Mafia/Werewolf/Psychopath

I lied about neither. I had a similar experience with Joey last Night if you recall.

I was covering all bases.
Plus, I know what you said about last Night; but do I necessarily believe you?

To be honest NAF, I reckon you’re the third party, and I’m worrying whether you can in fact steal the win from the Town, a question that Storyteller (deliberately, I’m sure) left somewhat open to interpretation.

So, I don’t know whether I can trust your reports to be truthful, or whether you’ve twisted them a bit to serve your own ends. Hence I deliberately included that option.

One issue about a PFK win-stealing from us is that we do win if there’s no CTs left. No mention is made that there can’t be any third party players around, so my hunch is that if there is a third-party player (and NAF’s role is a reasonable third-partyish kind of role), he’s more of a threat to the scum than he is to us.

On balance, I think you’re right that the third party (Naf or whoever) is more likely to be a threat to the CTs than to both sides. But I’m not comfortable with ignoring the possibility, so I keep the hypothesis in mind when playing this game.

Fair enough. I can’t do anything to change your mind, because all my powers could be interpreted as third party powers. My only defense is topoin to the town win condition. Town needs only to kill the crimson thorn in order to win, so as long as town reaches it’s win condition third party is not a threat.

I have another method by which I can try to verify myself if you would like, I could use it. Possibly toDay. It is potentially a very powerful pro town tool, but I have been keeping it in my back pocket because it could be just as anti town.

I can buy votes.

I have a mind control drug that allows me to buy peoples votes. Hopefully it works the way it is supposed to.

So we can all get a look at it, here is the current player list with claims and investigation status.

  1. Zeriel (claimed VT)

  2. Pedescribe (VT)

  3. Meeko (claimed VT)

  4. AllWalker (claimed VT)

  5. CatInASuit (Claimed VT)

  6. JoeyP (claimed VT, investigated)

  7. Tom Scud Cucuy (claimed investigator, 25% failure rate. Was right about story, wrong about Diver. Says Joey is town)

  8. MHaye (Claimed sucky watcher)

  9. NAF 1138 (Claimed Inventor [specifics: self-protect, track, daykill, lynch stopper], possible failure rate)

  10. Oredigger (Claimed Slut [roleblocker])

  11. Boozahol Squid, P.I. (Claimed Wimpy Vig, 25% failure rate + visibility)

Okay, NAF, I’ll give you a shot at proving it.
Having been reading over the game, and not saying much, I am finding it highly suspicious that neither of NAF’s claimed powers have worked. While I have trouble imagining NAF being dumb enough to try to claim repeated failures of his powers, it’s still just plain suspicious.

vote NAF1138

Yeah, I guess I’m not buying it, NAF. I don’t know if this is the best play, but I think it’s better than some other options.

vote: NAF1138

Ok, so you think the case against me is better than the one against Pede?

Fine. If I gain the vote lead at any point today I will stop the lynch.

Z I did sucessfuly track Boozy on night 1

I don’t have a read on Pede and I would like to test NAF’s powers. Instead of testing his lynch stopping power lets get him to buy a vote. I don’t have a strong feeling about who to vote for today so I’m in favor of him buying my vote rather then trying to lynching him.

If we are trying to create a no lynch doesn’t that count against the town as far as out mislynch count goes?

NAF buy a vote and if that fails then I think we should try and lynch him.

The benefit Town gains from not lynching is tempo. Roughly speaking, every two No Lynch results mean one Day more to hunt Mafia. That’s probably why it appears so attractive to new players. They don’t appreciate the value of the information they buy by lynching someone.

In the middle to late game, the possibility might open up that by a single mislynch, we buy a whole Day extra. The trouble is, we don’t know whether we are at that point right now. If the CT have to “equal or exceed” nonCT numbers, which is what I would expect without indications to the contrary, then we are not in a position where a no lynch buys an extra Day. Consequently I’m not in favour of forcing NAF to pull a Governor’s act.

The downside is that if you decide to lynch me toDay I am likely dead regardless.

I do, as it happens, have a totally differnt plan that involves verifying that Boozy is who he says he is, varifying my own powers and taking out the majority of the vanilla pool by the end of the Day toMorrow. But people have to be willing to trust me enough not to lynch me toDay.

When you say take out and use our vig in the same sentence your plan makes me nervous.

Which is why I haven’t brought it up before now. But I am looking at the numbers, and I think it works.

Ok, so we assume that there are likely no more than 4CT left. (Reasonable) And probably fewer (also reasonable).

We assume that nearly all of the claimed power roles are telling the truth and that Joey had a valid investigation (all reasonable). So there must be at least 2 CT in the vanilla pool. We lynch Pede toDay. Boozy takes out a vanilla toNight while Digger blocks another and Cucuy investigates another. I self protect and for shits and giggles Mhaye watches the guy who is left over. In the morning I kill another in the vanilla pool and if we still haven’t netted 2 CT we lynch another in that pool.

If at the end of the next Day the game is still going on that is when we start killing power role claiments.

The beauty of that plan is that it totally fucks the scum if we do it right. They have to kill a power role, probably cucuy but every one of the vanilla’s is going to have some sort of target on their back.

That sounds fair to middling, but I don’t think I will be able to help much. Remember, I watched a CT on Night 2, and he stayed at home all Night. So unless I happen to draw the killer, I doubt that I’m going to see anything.

The CT now know this, but I’ll be surprised if they hadn’t worked it out already.

There are scenarios where I’d learn something from watching the last man, but they depend on there being two CT, and Oredigger blocking the other.

If the CT don’t know who I’ll watch, they might make a blunder.

NETA.

To make it clear, yes I support NAF’s plan. I think it’s got potential.

All we need to do now is pick the various subjects.

Yeah, that was the bit that I kept trying to figure out. In order for the play to work to maximum effect we need to keep some elements a surprise, but then we run the risk of multiple power roles targeting the same player.

I kind of like NAF’s plan as well but I’ve got an idea; rather then wait until tomorrow to start it why doesn’t NAF day kill Pede today. Then if it works we can lynch someone else in the vanilla pool and decided who we are going to use our powers on and hopefully I can stop the Night kill on him. On the other hand if it doesn’t work we can lynch NAF.

By my count if we remove two from the vanilla pool then we can watch/block/investigate the remaining people so even if the kill does happen we’ll know who did it or know to look at our power roles.
