Dammit, I just spent all that time trying to find the post to see who it was, cuz I knew it wasn’t me (post 951 BTW).
Truth be known, I don’t think you can verify my power claim. It doesn’t really affect the subject. From that point of view, you should probably treat my claim as equivalent to a Vanilla, except that I don’t spend most of my Nights at home.
Lynch me when you want to digger.
What I want to know is, did Maha actually tell us that the prostitute was a role blocker? I can’t find that post.
If he didn’t…why does AllWalker think that MentalGuy was a roleblocker?
I don’t understand the question. Whether USCDIver voted or not was irrelevant to my consideration of the possibility of abstaining.
I placed a vote when I realised that Oredigger wasn’t going to vote. I wasn’t considering USCDiver as a potential voter, since he was the otherwise-unanimous lynch candidate.
I just want to point out:
At the time, MentalGuy hadn’t been revealed as a Prostitute. At the time, Digger’s claim looked much more suspicious, and at the time, his behavior was, as well. In retrospect, yes, it was a bad lynch. But at the time, it looked good to me.
Yep, he sure did. It wasn’t that hard to find if you just search Maholith’s post in this thread.
Huh, that’s what I did. I don’t know how I missed that. Thanks.
As I understood it from your comments, you would have abstained your vote to prevent a tie occuring at dusk.
I was expecting you to unvote Oredigger at the last to prevent it occuring, regardless of the action of any other player.
Correct?
Oh, Day 2.
You’re correct; I would have unvoted Oredigger to break the tie. The reason I did not was that partway through typing the post, I received a new post notification. I had the thread open in another tab, so hit f5 and carried on typing up the post.
When I saw USCDiver had voted and broken the tie, I abandoned the unvote. It wasn’t needed.
Ok, thanks for the clarification. That makes sense.
Thanks.
It would seem that it’s my quota to have one blow up per game. Hopefully the quota is less than that now.
CIAS help me out here please.

How does a WOW on story net a vote on Pede?
-
What slip is this exactly? Do you have a post number?
-
Soon after this post, a few people start talking about switching votes to avoid ties. I apparently don’t see how where or why this started. Help?
[We won’t touch the argument that Town wanted me to vote to lynch a Townie in the last game, and that somehow, if I had, we would have won. I still don’t buy that, FTR.]
I can’t place vote yet, but, FWIW, not feeling too great about keeping Pede or Joey alive for much longer.
We had a lot of activity on Joey, if I remember correctly:
- Why did Joey stand out?
- What results did each person get?
- Joey, what would you like to add, if anything?
Ok, thoughts as follows.

As a known scum, I was looking through storytellers posts to see if there was anything more out of the ordinary than usual. One thing that caught my eye was the more strident than usual declaration against tied votes at end of Day.
Following that was pedescribe’s comment at the end of Day 2 that if MHaye switched votes, MentalGuy would be condemned.
Now looking at the vote count, if Mhaye switched his vote, it would have ended in a tie between MentalGuy and JoeyP, not with MentalGuy in the lead. Given that we do not know what a tie will do, he cannot state that MentalGuy will be condemned. The only reference to tied votes to that is from storyteller earlier on. Call it possible scum PIS being shown. -

It started because tied votes at the end of Day are usually not beneficial to the town. However, we just don’t know in this game, but it is better not to take the risk. As a result, the players do their best to ensure it doesn’t happen.
Sorry, I must have misread the Day or something. I should stop Mafiaing past midnight, it’s not good.
So here’s how it works - if Oredigger is a roleblocking Slut, then I don’t see any way he could be Scum. If Scum had 2 roleblockers, Town could not get anything done. If, however, both Town and Scum each get a roleblocker, that might make sense.
The only way Oredigger could be Scum is if he is a Slut that isn’t a roleblocker, maybe a role which does nothing, kinda like a Scum Doctor. It is a possibility, but less likely than he is honest.
Hopefully this post makes more sense than my last.
As for Scum hunting, I feel that NAF is the most likely candidate to be a 3rd party role, if such a role exists, based solely on the nature of his powers. I also think that we should be examining the claimed Vanilla Townies, as that is usually a safer claim for Scum to make. I say this as a VT myself, so yeah.
Actually,
I am looking back at the Wow on MentalGuy and reckon he probably did the usual scum thing of seperating out the scum and his suspicions, so one scum in each of the following lines:
Neutral: USCDiver, Nanook, pedescribe, Meeko
Leaning Scummy: MHaye, Oredigger, JoeyP
Leaning Town: Storyteller, AllWalker, CIAS, Zeriel
Which means I would guess that one of pedescribe or Meeko and one of MHaye,Oredigger or JoeyP are likely scum.
Also, my other reason for voting pedescribe is the long justification MentalGuy made about why he thought he was getting a neutral tell.
Then again, I could just be reading too much into it.
I don’t think I am reading enough into it. Almost as if I am playing a different game entirely, … bringing up topics from my first game I ever played.
Oh wait.
You know, I was already to let this one slide past me, again. I did read this post back when it was posted [A deep burried nugget here, to be sure.] and it honestly didn’t stick out to me, at all. I figured, and went with the assumption that “condemn” was an innocent synonym for the lynch, a euphemism. I was about to let to go past me, again, for the same reason.
But, then, looking at “As well as create another tie” from the immediate next post…
That strikes me as completely odd. Almost as if pede was speaking as scum first, and then had to RUN to cover it in town sauce. He might not be able to edit, and I’m willing to bet that he could, if he didn’t care about THAT type of a slip.
Just, it just sticks out for me, that you said one thing Pede, and then, you thought better of it, and tried to fix it. … The extra fixing, not the act itself, leads me to this;
**Unvote **[Don’t think I had one, but just in case.]
Vote Pedescribe
**Vote Count:
Pedescribe(3): CatInASuit, NAF, Meeko**
So, it seems like we are working our way down a long slow slide to lynching pede. And no one is really trying to stop it.
That’s interesting.
Anyone else insterested in voting toDay or anything?
Yesterday, I read through the game to restore some lost records; for some reason I had no vote tracking spreadsheets for Days 3 and 4. This also enabled me to catch up on action that occurred while Yattara was here.
I have to say that Oredigger’s reaction to the events of Night 3 just left me staring blankly at the screen.
There is no reason whatever to suppose we are in a Gastard game. Therefore, a pronouncement like “Storyteller was an Ordinary Crimson Thorn” is absolutely to be trusted.
This leads to the following conclusions.[ul][li]Storyteller has no special resistance to Daykills from his role. Therefore one of the following is true.[ol]CTs are immune to Daykills by virtue of being CT.[/li][li]A CT has the power to block Daykills, and had extended it to Storyteller.[/li][li]NAF lied, either about attempting the Daykill or about the result.[/ul]A further possibility is that NAF’s powers have a failure rate, and he hasn’t been told about that; however, that sounds gastard-ish (at least) adnd this is not a Gastard game.[/li][li]Storyteller did not choose Natlaw for death; that was the regular Nightkill.[/ol]Storyteller did undoubtedly “choose Natlaw” in the Dawn colour. However, that was after the deaths had happened. This may simply be Mahaloth mucking with our heads. However, it may also indicate that a CT who is lynched may be able to benefit in some way from the death of a Townsperson that occurred the Night after their lynch. MentalGuy got no choice because no Townnsperson died Night 2.[/li]
This is blue-sky speculation, but it would certainly fit the billing of the game.
I need to mull the game over a bit more, and maybe read a couple of chunks, before voting. I’d better do that tonight, since I have a 500 meal checkup at 2:15 tomorrow afternoon, so I won’t be back until around 3.
