No Piano, galt won’t get that type of treatment because he is doing what he should. He is reporting a possible bug and as you can see from Tubadiva’s replies it’s being dealt with.

There is no need to infom the entire board of the details of your internet connection. Unusual quirks and glitches in the behaviour of the software are the sort of thing techs like to know about. Also nice to mention on the board (in ATMB, of course), in case others have noticed the same behaviour. So far, the mods have expressed no displeasure with galt’s posts, and I think it is rather presumptuous for others to tell us how Alphagene thinks, especially when they are wrong.
Probably because he was dumping on someone in the thread I was quoting, and then acting all holy because he once stopped a troll hunt after it had gone on over a day.
If he weren’t here in ATMB accusing people of things, then I wouldn’t be pointing it out up here. He should really use his own advice about switching to email, instead of broadcasting his broadsides.
Moderator’s guidelines about acceptable conduct are perfectly reasonable things to post here. Do you really have this much trouble understanding what is appropriate for posting on the boards and what belongs in email? And the person he was “dumping on” in that other thread was doing something completely unrelated to the discussion here. Or is that reason enough to insert his out of context statements into any thread?
Some threads get locked before you see them, so you comment where it seems related.
I did that. If you can’t figure out how message boards work, go back to chat rooms.

But he was one of the main jerks, along with yojimbo who had richman2 by the neck and were shaking him back and forth with “moderator conspiracy theories”.
Then had to let him go, and then TubaDiva ended saying it was all a mistake.
Sure, mistakes happen, but why do people have to get roughed up all the time for an innocent remark, or posting when they should have emailed (and how would they have guessed that beforehand, with no rules ever posted around here?)

my only post in that thread. Where do I refer to richman2? I was referring to a group of posters who spend a lot of their time in ATMB moaning about the Admin. and also misrepresenting what other posters have said. Is this ringing any bells with you?
I also don’t see Andros referring to waterj2 at all.

Look, someone can post links and show how wrong you are, so stop making up stories. Yojimbo has posted a link to the thread in question, so I won’t bother. Anyways, if you look at that thread, the worst I ever said about richman2 was that it seemed to me that he was overreacting. I did argue with barflyer, soupy, la king, and perhaps others (the group yojimbo is talking about as well), but I never said anything bad about richman, and even made a modest effort to look into the conspiracy theory that Pit and the Pendulum posted.
As for what I said about trollhunting, the only recollection I had of any accusations of trolling being posted in the past couple days was the thread about Ogre, but now that I think about it, I do remember CopperTears being accused of being Serlin. I wasn’t being righteous, I was just a bit confused, as you all seem to be referring to several instances, only one of which I could remember.
You know, I really shouldn’t even defend myself against your accusations, as they are so obviously based on only half-truths and bizarre speculations. Among posters whose opinions of me I care about, none are going to believe you anyways. OTOH, I just really can’t let blatant slander such as you have posted stand without comment. What a quandry.
Please link to one time when I say “I’m a respected poster”. I keep on referring to it so it won’t be too hard to find just one. Actually I’d love to see a link to anyone saying that about themselves. You really just make this stuff up as you go don’t you.

Thanks, Tuba. I wish I could help reproduce the problem so it could be narrowed down further, but that ain’t too likely. To answer andros’ question, a reload of the main page later showed the correct name (it was longer than 10 seconds later, but since at T+10 seconds, the login page had the right info, I’d assume the reload would have worked then too).
I agree that the thread should be closed (just in case there is some unwritten moderator rule that won’t let you close a peaceful, on-topic thread without the OP’s consent).
