Welcome Lil' Neville!

Our baby girl was born August 5, weighing 5 lbs 13 oz or 2637 grams (by some strange coincidence, exactly the same as I weighed when I was born). My water broke around 1:30am, as I was getting ready for bed, and she was born at 6:50pm.

I had to have a C-section, since she got very stuck trying to come out the other way. They had to resuscitate her after she came out, so she spent a week in the NICU. Since she was born, though, the news has all been good. They did an MRI, and everything looks normal. She came home from the hospital with us on Sunday. I have had three obstetricians tell me that any subsequent children I have will be by planned C-section. Evidently, my pelvis is too narrow to get a baby out the other way, which we didn’t know until I tried pushing her out. I’m really glad I live in the 21st century.

I’m sore and very tired, and learning how to take care of a baby, but we’re glad to have her home. I’m breastfeeding her, and that is going well.

The Neville kitties don’t know quite what to make of all this. They’ve sniffed her a couple of times, but we’re keeping them out of the pack-n-play and the bassinet, and only allowing them to interact with her when someone is around to supervise.

**Where are the pictures?!? **:dubious:
Oh, and congratulations!

Congratulations!

Congrats! I’m glad that she’s home, and I hope you recover soon. (Hopefully the kitties will come around)

Congratulations, that’s amazing!

Bad pelvis! Bad pelvis!

She landed on the day between my birthday and my younger son’s. Good time to have a birthday.

Congratulations! Keep us posted.

Pics or it didn’t happen!

But congrats if it really did!

Oh, and what did you name her? Or is it a secret?

¡Hola chiquiiiiiii!

Congratulations

Mazel tov! The sprog will attest that August is a great month to have a birthday. No holidays, no school, and no activities.

Congratulations! And yeah, we need pics.

Wonderful news! Congratulations!

Congratulations! I’m sure that a surprise c-section wasn’t the birth you’d imagined, but I’m glad to hear everyone is home and healthy and sizing each other up.

Yay!!!

Congratulations! New babies are wonderful.

Yay for new baby!!!

From one 8/5 baby to another, welcome! Congratulations!

Well, trust a Leo to make a dramatic entrance!

Seriously…congratulations. And heal well. Take care of yourself; this is not easy surgery, even if they call it routine these days. Remember that when people ask you if there’s anything they can do to help, mostly they mean it. Make yourself a list of those silly little things you need to get done, and when they ask, say, “Well, actually, I would be ever so grateful if you could throw this load of laundry in the washer/ pick me up a gallon of milk/ hold the baby for 15 minutes so I can get my whole body showered at once!”

And if you need anything that can be provided by internet, please do let *me *know. I mean it.

congratulations!!!

enjoy your new lion/dragon!

that is some combo.

Welcome to the world, Lil’ Neville!

congratulations!!! and what Why Not said makes a lot of sense. people enjoy helping so take them up on it.
