I largely agree with you, although it is worth noting what one relative of one of his victims said: “As to Emwazi himself, Woodward-Styles added, ‘I don’t think he deserves the attention that his apparent death is causing. I think he was a coward.’”
It goes hard to celebrate anyone’s death…but if ever a death was worth celebrating, this one has a good chance at the nomination.
I know this will be a terribly unpopular opinion, but…I don’t know why anyone would think a man who left a comfortable, middle-class life in first world Britain to fight to the death in a 3rd world shit hole was any sort of coward. A psychopath? Sure. A piece of shit? Absolutely. But a coward? That doesn’t compute.

The war against ISIS is a war of ideas, specifically of certain ideas found in Islamic scripture. Ideas which are defensible in scriptural terms. As long as the ideas which motivate these people have currency, there will always be another Jihadi John willing to kill and die for them.

One of the things that struck me about this death was not that it was extra-judicial - the intill-military complex being police and judge with the President as Jury it was that … there were at least three other people in the same vehicle, and the double drone attack happened in a town centre street in daylight.
How many peole actually died for this - no one even thought of the innocent lives lost: how many innocent people died? how many were women shopping or children? Did they have families, how are their families today, what will the brothers and sisters do without their mother?

Endangering bystanders is always a concern, but making up stuff just to stress out about isn’t helpful. All reports I have seen say there was one other person in the car, not 3, and that no one else was nearby.
Since the video has undoubtedly been seen by thousands of people by now, from various countries, its unlikely the official announcement made up a lie that would be eventually contradicted. I wouldn’t be surprised if the actual video makes it online at some point.
