It didn’t sound much like sarcasm when I read that OP, and Ermes Marana kept at it. Only after a few more posts did the absurdity turn into sarcasm. Up until those posts, it all sounded just like an idiot being serious.
Well, I don’t know the OP from Adam. But he used the word “nefarious” in his summary sentence. Does anyone use “nefarious” with a straight face these days? It’s on MY list of “funny words to whip out for my own amusement,” I can tell you.

Anyone with a passing familiarity with baseball and the cult of hate surrounding Bonds in today’s sports media would have recognized the obvious sarcasm, at least by his second post. He’s pointed out some obvious indicators (i.e. the MVP that never “made history”). That some people got so totally pantsed and won’t admit it is almost as funny as the Ermes’ post. It’s almost Kaufman-esque.
Is there any special reason I am not aware of that this had to be put in another thread? Just checking so I don’t break some rule or other.
I know very little about baseball and I knew it was definitely sarcasm by “nefarious henchmen”.
Some people need to tune up their sarcasm-o-meter. And perhaps start less pit threads.
