Lol yes there is.
TL;DR: Researchers find large traces of urine in swimming pools.
Okay 'fess up: who here has ever pee’d in a swimming pool?

A better question would be who here has **never **peed in a swimming pool? My guess is the only people who have never peed in a pool are people who have never been in a pool. Granted, I’ve never done it as an adult, but when I was a kid or lazy teen… sure. Not in a hot tub or a kiddie pool, though. Not enough room for it to disperse.
However, I pee in the Pacific Ocean all the time (that’s where it’ll end up anyway)
No, they found large traces of urine in Canadian swimming pools.
Just sayin.
I’ve been in a pool lots and have never urinated in one unless it was when I was too young to remember going in. In natural bodies of water, all bets are off (although I also would not do so in a natural pool that was part of a park.)
The easiest way to deal with it is to just not care.
Not snarking at the OP, it’s a good thread. That’s just my attitude about things many people consider gross, pee, germs, and just about anything else.
I don’t pee in the pool where I swim at the local rec center. The lifeguards sit high up in their chairs and I’m in a lane by myself, I am totally afraid of being noticed.
I’m sure I’ve peed in other public pools though, when I was a kid.
My mother’s posted rule for neighborhood use of our small pool was, “Don’t pee in our pool. We don’t swim in your toilet.”
And probably, as a kid. Don’t recall.
I took a crap in one when I was a little kid. It was too cold to get out and walk all the way to the bathroom!
Yes, especially having to roll your poop in front of you all that way.
Wow.
I get out of the ocean/sea/river/pool/hot-tub to urinate. Maybe I’m too civilized.
WASP: Someone who gets out of the shower to pee.
Same here.
If it’s in your 'ackyard, I won’t wanna B in it.
OK, I’ll cop to peeing in the shower. Or the sink (I’ve been in bars with one urinal, one toilet, one sink, and a line for each.
It’s all pipes!
Perhaps if there had been a sign saying “Welcome to our ‘L’, you’ll notice there’s no poo in it.”
“Large traces”? Is that a metric thing?
[sub]what a bunch of oxymaroons[/sub]
Nice study but it left out the important measurement: ACE-K’s presence in the local tap water. ACE-K is the marker they were using and it’s present in urine and ground water and from there tap water used to maintain water levels in the pools. Concentration of ACE-k was on the order of 1 in 5 billion. I’m going to go check back and see if the full study is available.

Yup. We’re really not that polite.
I have never peed in a swimming pool as an adult or cognizant child.
