gee diane, who pissed in your cornflakes this morning? I think I use this board like everyone else, I have only my own life experience to draw on, same as you, I am not claiming to be an authority on anything, and except for Bjorn :), I dont go around picking on people.
See, the thing is, I feel that there have been injustices here, the whole melin thing, posts being deleted at the duboius discretion of the few in power, and the RELENTLESS persecution of Contestant #3, and I will continue to bitch, howl, whine, whatever it takes, to draw attention to this…I would do it for you diane, if it was you the were trying to run off the board.

Maybe it is due to a genetic flaw, maybe I dont have enough battles in real life to fight, maybe trying to help a friend gives me a selfish rush of warm fuzzies…dont really matter does it?

Kel, Kel, Kel, I don’t have time to read each and every thread on this site, sorry I missed those you mentioned. With the exception of the death ritual thread, the others didn’t catch my eye enough to open them. I guess your offering to the death ritual didn’t stand out enough that I noticed the writer. I have to make it a point to pay closer attention.
What I have noticed, is your ever increasing whiny threads. GAWD, after reading thread after thread of how unfair everything is and how the page doesn’t load fast enough and how picked on you and Con #3 are, I just have this urge to plug my ears and scream “Shut the hell up, already!”
I too was angry about what happened to Melin. I have known her for more than a year and she has become a very good friend of mine. I was angry at the way she was treated, especially the public backstabbing she received from someone who was supposed to be her friend. I thought some (not all) of the other moderators as well as Ceci. . , I mean Mr. Zotti, didn’t handle it well, but know what? It’s over! No matter how the rest of us feel about it, all parties directly involved have put it behind them and moved on. Get over it, nothing is going to change.
As far as Con #3, he isn’t stupid. He knows that he is going to get a reaction when he posts certain things and I am sure he isn’t surprised when it happens. My personal opinion is that he enjoys getting a rise out of others and likes to be a disturbance. We all need our entertainment, some just find it in different ways. I imagine that he has enough experience in his actions that he can pretty much hold his own, but if you want to take him on as your own personal crusade, knock yourself out, just expect me to bitch when you become a little bit too whiny, you know, kinda like now?
You asked what I would do if they were trying to drive me off the board? Considering that no one has twisted my arm and forced me to post to this board and that I read the rules when I signed up, I guess my own actions would determine if I stay or go. I make the choice on how I act, if I go over that boarder, I get warned (BTW - I recently got a spanking by Lynn, I just didn’t feel the need to publicly cry over it). If I continue my actions, sooner or later I will get kicked off. It’s their board, they can more or less do what they want, if we don’t like it, we know where the door is located. That’s a fact of life, fair or not fair, this is their board, they call the shots. We would be fooling ourselves with delusions of grandeur if we think they would really be effected by a few dozen disgruntled readers leave their site or stop buying their books. I have a flash for you, it wouldn’t make a difference.
There are thousands of newsgroups and message boards in cyberspace, why do you stick around a place that obviously isn’t up to your standards? I mean, we have heard you whine from everything from how unfair life is to how the ads lock up your computer, if it is so bad for you, why stay?

I stay here because I like the people…I think MOST of them are past smart, nearly brilliant, and I dont post on every thread I read, I read most of them…

Kelli, for the most part I agree with you on the fact that everyone’s a bit uppity and arbitrary right now. However, I just wanted to say that you used a comment of mine completely out of context in the thread that’s been closed. I was only using old lawyer jokes, replacing the word “lawyer” with posters’ names, and C#3 was NOT the only poster’s name I used. I try to remain as impartial as possible, and I thought the fact that I used C#3 and Nickrz as well made that abundantly clear. I wasn’t even aware that the “I flame you all” thread was meant for “real” flaming, anyway. I think the spirit of things is a bit different if it’s not meant to be a joke.
That having been said, I love watching everyone get their panties in a bunch over Connie. He’s done nothing but amuse the crap out of me, and everyone overreacting to everything he ever says amuses me even more. There comes a point in time where you really just have to take a deep breath and say “this is just a message board.”
