It’s the first day of classes at my college and in the midst of my second class, a guy comes in and informs us that classes are canceled for the day and we should calmly proceed back to our dorm rooms.
It seems that there is an escaped prisoner in the area and he’s been sighted on campus. He shot an officer just off campus this morning and is (ovbiously) armed and dangerous.
Well, I guess I’ll have to wait until Wednesday for my intro to Aero/Hydrodynamics.

My university has had class cancelled twice in it’s history: in 1963 when Kennedy got shot, and in 1895 when a bull got loose on campus.
So I recommend that you remember this date; it may be a part of your college’s folklore in years to come.
Better than discovering the aerodynamics of a bullet firsthand.

My friend’s daughter goes to the same school as you. This was her first day of college classes ever. Quite an auspicious beginning for her.
Yeah. I was just remarking about that to an RA. Not the best way for freshmen to start their college experience.
And not the best way for mothers whose firstborn are miles away from home to start their college experience!
