wendy's fries. It only took 35 years. WTF took them so long?

I don’t see the big difference… same potato plank sprayed with a hypertonic sugar syrup… very little difference from the original. The "sea salt’ tastes exactly the same as their previous salt. It’s really kind of wrong this “sea salt” moniker… all salt is "“sea” salt… all salt comes from ancient and modern seas. Extinct and on their way. I’ll take the three guys fry for my representive fry.

oops… meant 5 guys.

I’m on the fence about the new Wendy’s fries.

On one hand, I don’t really like “skin-on” fries, especially when you get a skinny fry that might be mostly- or all-skin and winds up being crunchy or tough (my mom loves these crunchy “reject” fries, though).

OTOH, there were several occasions with the old fries where I got a batch that was undercooked almost to the point of the inside of the fry still being cold. Eww. So however they cook them now, they seem to do a better job.

The fries that I prefer overall are either: a) curly fries when I can get them; or b) waffle fries from Chick-fil-a. The latter are just about the best widely available fast-food fries in my area, and are the perfect combination of crispy outside, moist inside, and a little bit of skin for an extra crunch. Mmmmm.

I still think Rally’s/Checker"s has the besta fries after MCD’s

I thought the old fries were great. About the best around since McDonald’s gave in to stupid busybodies and stopped cooking theirs in beef fat.

I think the new ones kinda suck. They’re ALWAYS cold, from the same location where they were never cold before they changed them, and they just don’t have the nice taste and texture of the old ones.
