We're all in the mood for a melody

I really liked this one. Thanks!

That was super cool.

Not in the mood for sad today, here’s the other version…

I feel like some songs belong to the summer and we can’t let newer generations miss out on them.

Oh, that’s a good idea, and since I reread the OP and saw that we are allowed to post a second song on another day (a quota I shamelessly broke already in my first post), here’s one more cool summer song:

Amen. Living in the desert, this is one of my go-tos for this time of the year.

Lots of good music here! I’m about halfway through the list so far. Here’s mine.

You’ve Got The Touch (TRANSFORM AND ROLL OUT!)

While I’m already far above my one song for day quota, I wanted to thank @Chad_Sudan with another beautiful song from Teenage Fanclub’s best album, “Songs From Northern Britain”. There really is no bad Teenage Fanclub album, but this is their materpiece.

Of course, you’re dead on with liking them to the Byrds, they were gods to Teenage Fanclub. They even had a song named “Gene Clark”, which surprisingly sounded like a Neil Young & Crazy Horse song.

But then, they also had a song cleverly named “Neil Jung” that was very Byrdsian:

And I cannot let it go with also a treat for @Aspenglow. Another forgotten gem by the Everlys that came a bit too late to be a hit, just after the Beatles had taken over. But it absolutely holds a candle to everything the Beatles did in 1964.

Yello card for you.

This kind of Yello I can live with. :+1:

Sorry, Celine.

Yello card for you.

I will not flout the rules of this thread by posting Cake’s The Distance. You cannot fully understand how much discipline this takes.

Technically, I broke my own thread rule. You’re a bigger girl than I.

Do it! I love the song. It was the first Cake song I ever heard, it was on a giveaway promo CD in the German Rolling Stone magazine, and I was instantly hooked.

Well now I really can’t after I bragged. Someone who has a video to give should do it. Or maybe even a scofflaw. If my husband posted here I’d have him post a bunch of videos. That’s what NYC DOJ called him when they towed his vehicle (a long time ago. I still call him a ‘scofflaw’ to this day).

Ok, if you’re too timid to post it, here it is. It’s fantastic:

Bleed into your shoes, Man

Wowowow, treat for sure! It lifted my day – thank you!

Takes me back to my days of, uhh, single-digit birthdays, when I carried my very groovy transistor radio with me everywhere to stay up to date on the coolest music. I have a dim recollection of hearing that rocking song once or twice.

They were underappreciated in their time, but The Everly Brothers did pretty well with Wake Up Li’l Susie, Bye Bye Love and others.

In keeping with the Golden Oldies and Summer themes, I offer the following as my Pick of the Day:
