We're all in the mood for a melody

I know the OP requested one song per post, but this really works best as a tetralogy of songs (though there are more, many more, apparently, in the full video game they’re from).

A heartbreaking story. Starting early in the second song, I was sobbing so hard that my mother, waking up from the bedroom, thought I was having another nervous breakdown. “No,” I said through my tears, “I’m just listening to really sad music.” I listened to the four songs once and haven’t been able to put myself through it again, but it’s a compelling story if you’re into that sort of thing.

Van Halen & the Jackson 5:

Some nutty Japanese geezers. Playing Duke Ellington.

This week, I have mostly been listening to stride piano.
This guy is phenomenal …

In memory of metalhead Snowboarder Bo, here’s some Indian metal from Bloodywood.

A hilariously vulgar country song I just heard for the first time today:

Kids say the darndest things.

How about some Skynyrd?

^Good one!

Sam Cooke’s Twistin’ The Night Away

New song from Momma, channeling Nirvana, Liz Phair, and probably other 90s favorites that I didn’t catch.

Christina Aguilera’s Candyman

What pipes!

The weekend is here! Time to sit back, relax, and…

Tear the roof off the sucker!

Some grrrl power punk from Courtney Barnett. Her lyrics are worth listening to, for the rhymes if nothing else.

I must confess I’ve made a mess
of what should be a small success
but I digress
at least I’ve tried my very best, I guess.

Pure 80s power pop ear candy:
