Is it just me, or does BabyMetal" sound more like a genre than a band name? I mean, it’s exactly what I’d thought it would be, but I would have assumed it would be a huge trend of making metal “cute.”
Anyways, seems more like experiential music than anything I’d listen to in recording form. In other words, you go for a concert and a high energy good time, not for anything special in the music.
It’s not for me, and I like Metal. Or, maybe, it’s not for me because I like Metal. I gave the op’s video almost 2 minutes. I was amused that it sounded like the singer guy was saying “toe tornado”.
I’m pretty sure it’s the same girls. Or am I just being wooshed?
First off, thank you for this link because it’s awesome.
Second off, as only a 42% metal snob I think this band is kinda good clean fun.
Each song sounds like they took an actual metal song and put it inside of Dance Dance Revolution, and then they have songs that sound like it’s on a really weird version of LazyTown.
So having watched a video or 3 correct me if I’m wrong: The band consists of the skeleton music people, the lead singer and then the underage girls that are there for dance purposes only?
Overall not bad…nothing I would want to listen to all the time, but I put a song or two on my rock mix and will be pleasantly surprised when it gets played
The other two girls are underused, but they are there for dancing, cutesy backup vocals and the occasional scream. But hopefully in the future the group will use more harmonies with all three singers.
Different lead - but otherwise yes (I really like that drummer - is she the one doing the Cookie Monster bits as well? Love that her bio lists “Special Skill: Moonwalk”
)
I like Babymetal and all the other bands in this thread, but then, I hate Metal and like cute.
