And it’s making a lot of noise too.
Do you have a tin roof for the hail to bang on? And I hope any vehicles you own aren’t getting hurt by the hail.
We had a hailstorm a few months ago. Lots of damage. Damage to my roof, called the insurance company and they cut me a check for $6000 for a new one. I was just about to get one this summer too.
Me like hail.
as I’ve remarked before, every time it hails, it’s just the Angels sh%tting!
I assume we’re not talking 1999 Sydney hailstorm intensity here?
We had hail last month up here. My car got pretty dinged up. Stupid hail.
No. But there are some good shots of the after effects here and on the SMH website. I gather the inner-city around Ultimo got the heaviest falls.
Some of those photos make it look like snow.
I always say that hail is the only type of severe weather that doesn’t have any redeeming qualities. Thunderstorms and tornadoes are awe-inspiring. Hail is like a little juvenile delinquent running around wrecking stuff.
Newtown checking in - yeah, we got a heap of hail!
Cheers,

Redfern here - my back courtyard looked like a winter wonderland. It was amazing! And it sounded brilliant. I just stood and stared for ages, feeling happy and wistful.
And grateful I don’t own a car.
Lucky buggers. I lived in Sydney for nearly 2 and a half years, didn’t see a decent hailstorm in that whole time.
Over here in Adelaide, we just got wind today. However it was enough to bring down one of the trees that is inextricably tangled in the power/phone lines around my area, so hopefully the council will have some fucking impetus to trim/cut down the damnable things before they call come down in the next major storm.
“That’s not hail, Mommy, that’s shooting stars!”
Quote from an almost 4 year old boy of my acquaintance who recently was riding in the car in bad weather for several hours with his mommy, who was not nearly so thrilled with the intersting weather.
