Come to think of it, didn’t glee also point out that he was trusted by Masons - as if to imply that he was among them - and then Pleonast made a point of distancing him/herself from it? (Please correct me if I’m wrong, my memory has been faulty before.) If true, glee looks mighty suspicious to me now too.
Sorry I don’t have time to look it up - today is stupid busy at work and for some reason my computer is not permitting me to save any .doc documents, which is a significant pain in the arse, considering the task I’m working my way through … My above suggestion is meant only to inform the “who should the cop investigate” discussion, I will hunt down the reference “tonight” and post a more full analysis “tomorrow.”
Sure. I’ve already discussed the voting patterns of known Mafia [url=http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=8466432&postcount=2723] here. Here’s how this applies to brewha’s case, specifically.
Mafia tend to vote less than town; brewha has cast seven votes in five days, noticeably fewer than most players.
Mafia seldom cast a final vote for one of their own; brewha’s final votes on days 1-4 were: no vote, Gadarene, Fern Forest, and Autolycus, all now known to be townies.
Brewha, like three out of four of our known Mafia, voted and then unvoted Queuing on Day 2 (as did a couple of known townies, so this isn’t any way conclusive – but when you put it together with the other voting patterns, it starts to look at least mildly suspicious).
Could I be barking up the wrong tree here? Yes, quite possibly – I haven’t got any more information than the rest of the town.
Yes. I was right about Fern Forest, and I wish I had stuck with my reluctance to vote for Autolycus (I had a bad feeling after he finally posted that he was telling the truth, and I regret that I didn’t speak up about it, although I doubt that it would have made any difference). This makes me into the tyranny of evil men how? (I’m female, BTW.)
Sorry – here’s a correctly formatted link to my earlier post about Mafia voting patterns. I picked brewha over StarvingButStrong on sheer gut instinct; I get the feeling she’s town, though I could well be wrong about that.
Nice analysis, Queuing. The time you’ve taken on your various analyses are one of the reasons you have slipped out of the big gray cloud of I-don’t-have-a-clue and and more towards citizen. If you think you’ve found truthiness in there then good on ya. And this is no plea to get me off your list: collusion and the like give me a whiff of scum, since they’re the only ones with an accurate list at this point.
I’ve read the thread a number of times. If I haven’t come back with amazing conundrum-clearing insights it’s because I know that approximatley 75% of the posts are sincere, innocent ignorance and 25% are clever, calculated deceit.
My current view shows the great unknown with, brewha and aguecheek peeking out the top as possible scum, and queuing, pimaspinner and storyteller settling out the bottom as probable town along with the masons. I am comfortable voting my conscience with brewha and waiting to see what the night brings for aguecheek. MadTheSwine is still in the legion of players for whom I have weak, if any, ideas of identity, so I’m staying with **brewha ** for today.
And I’ll be on the road around lynch time so don’t make too much of me not coming in with a quick cheer for our insight or tears for our ignorance. Though I’m going out of twon I’ll be around morning and evenings for posting and catch-ups so I’ll be in later to see what’s happened.
It has nothing to do with my voting pattern. Someone came up with a theory that along the lines of town vote 2.6 times a day and mafia vote 1.8 times a day. The theory sounded to me like the football anouncers that say things like “The Packers have never lost on their home field on an even day after the 15th of the month when their opponets home city is south of the mason dixon line and the temp is below 16 F”. It just didn’t make much sense to me. Since I didn’t vote on the first day, it apparently makes me scum.
As far as the accuastion of laying low, I’ve got (or had) the 4th most posts today. That’s hardly laying low.
I don’t have enough on MTS to vote for him. But, I haven’t trusted MonkeyMensch from the begining. And his refusal to unvote me even though everyone else did makes me think he’s laying low and not trying to bring attention to himself.
…and again [post=8437114]#1865[/post] and again [post=8414695]#632[/post]
then suggests lynching **Jsexton ** and vigging kivvik here[post=8436388]#1844[/post] if jsex is scum…pretty safe play.Throws out a meaningless vote for kivvik here [post=8436521]#1854[/post] and one for FCOD [post=8415675]#706[/post] then unvotes FCOD shortly thereafter. Also never voted for Enfant.
I will say again… I AM TOWN.
Fretful either has the best intuition of any of us (by a long shot!),or SHE knows something we don’t.
Well, I don’ t think it makes a bit of a difference, but I feel that I should vote for whom I think is MOST likely scum. While Malacandra is still on my radar I feel I must:
That’s roughly how often they HAVE voted, on the average; I make no particular claims for this theory’s predictive powers as yet, but I thought I’d give it a shot and see whether it works. That said, I am this close to voting for MadTheSwine instead, since his attempts to cast suspicion on me contain logic that verges on the bizarre, but I want to review his other posts first.
Things to look at when I am dead…post #1268 and 1288 has two known scum agreeing with starving…also some,if not all, confirmed scum championed the Autolycus cause saying he is probly just foolin’about. I think the mafia wanted him alive in a bad way as he caused so much confusion and laughed about it in the mafia thread knowing we would have to kill him ourselves.
I would also suggest having Aguecheek and Pima both investigate Queing tonight and see what comes up,making sure Ague post his results first since we aren’t sure of his claim, then see what pimas results are.
Crazy like a fox, your insight of who not to vote for is bizarre. You’ve correctly defended every townie that was lynched, again its seems you are trying real hard to look like the innocent do-gooder,when you KNOW it is gonna make you look squeaky clean in the eyes of the town.Well played.
This will be a shining moment for the town if ya’ll agree with me here…those of you who arent sure about me and have even said so…change your vote to Fretful…I feel I have made a strong case against her.
MTS that sounds like a solid plan and leads me to trust you more. I would choose to unvote you if I could, but my vote lies elsewhere. If anyone is unsure about MTS’s scumminess, take a good look at Queuing’s analysis of Monkeymensch. It seems pretty convincing to me.
MTS, I really hope you are town, because if this lynching goes through and you turn up scum, it looks really bad for me.
Time is not on our side…time to go with your gut feeling guys.If you feel strongly that I am scum so be it …let your vote stand…I expect some of you don’t…make a stand!
I like the idea of having aguecheek reporting back first, assuming they wake up alive. I don’t really get why you want both cops to investigate me, but whatever. I agree that I am under a lot of suspicion however the way I deal with it is not to make a bunch of pleas of “I am town” but rather provide some good information for my fellow townies to follow up on after they kill me I believe you have done the same thing here, and rest assured even in your death your accusations will be looked at (assuming I wake up alive as well).
