The pleasant village of Cecil Cove is but a day’s journey from the unfortunate town of Cecilwich. Although the townsfolk there ultimately drove off the evil denizens, their suffering was great. And diabolic forces were not restricted to that locale only. Yes, even Cecil Cove is afflicted, for this very night, Mayor Ed Little lies broken on the commons. The Cove is abuzz with whispers and rumors:
“A bevy of **Werewolves **now hunts us. We’ll be eaten one by one.”
“You fool, wolves don’t come bevies; they’re Vampires. But we’ll still be eaten.”
“Suck it up, the world is full of suffering. I simply want to rest in peace, but the capitalist **Necromancers **won’t let us.”
“Yeah, they’re not even pretending to give living wages any more. The international **Cabal **will help us bring them down.”
“Pfah, the **Freemasons **are the truly secret society.”
“Ha, so secret they can’t even find their own rear ends. I’d rather trust the **Witches **than a bunch of guys in funny-looking hats.”
“Have you ever seen a witch’s hat? Besides I don’t trust that feminist mysticism, we need to use hard science to track down the miscreants. The **Detective **will find the scum with his superior forensic skills.”
“Science!? That doesn’t help those already dead. All the **Coroner **can do is probe your corpse.”
“The **Witchdoctor **is much more useful. And less invasive. As long as you don’t mind pins and body piercings.”
“Sounds like we’ll prodded no matter what. I’d rather not place too much hope in someone else bringing me back from the dead. Better to be proactive like the **Magician **and let someone else take one for the team instead.”
“The Warlock’s revenge is even more proactive.”
“No need to be so bloody. The **Vicar **keeps us safe without killing others.”
“You all are too focused on the past. The **Seer **will tell us the future.”
“Yes! And the **Vigilante **can eliminate that future threat.”
“They ain’t threats to a burly Scotsman.”
The gossip continues through the night. Despite the confusion and uncertainty, one thing is clear: action will be taken on the morrow.
The detailed rules are found in this Google doc. This edition of Conspiracy has been formulated for 15, 20, 25, or 30 players. Please express your interest in this thread before Thursday noon (PT) 11 Jun 2008. I will use as many players as possible. If more players express an interest than I have room for, I will randomly select from among those who are interested. For example, if 23 people are interested, I will randomly choose 20 players.
