Werewolf a game Part 2 (this time with MAFIA!)

Ok then. I suppose I misunderstood the whole pairs thing. I was under the impression that finding scum or town didn’t matter that much as it meant the other half would be whatever the lynched person wasn’t. This is why I did not want to go after lakai. I assumed we were already pretty damn sure of his allegiance, and as stated, I thought it was better to have more minds alive to decide between the other two. How this has made me look scummy I admit I do not understand.

In fact I think Lakai is scum. I think brewha may have been on to something, and I think his (lakai) last posts, with its sarcastic tone, rollie eyes and attempted accusations at me with no actual FOS, is an attempt to pick a fight with me. I find it odd that he won’t just come out and say FOS. He just seems to throw little accusations out and then hopes someone else will run with it.

I find Fretful has been doing the same thing. Seemingly for the whole game, if I remember MtS accusations correctly.

If I had to vote now (which I don’t, and I won’t, not until 11pm tonight or tomorrow morning) I would vote for one of these two. If I had to choose I would vote for Fretful. My deciding factor is not a very good one, however here it is; there were 2 townies who wanted these people dead. They were MtS and brewha wanting fretful and lakai dead. I told MtS that I would follow up on his lead and dieing wish. So what the hell? Might as well do it now :).

Which brings me to the key question: when exactly does this Day end?

And the time from a previous was 11am EST.

This is correct, the day ends about 24 hours from now.

Well, were you or were you not misrepresenting facts in a way that had potential to get me lynched? Why would I leave that alone?

I did not FOS you because I don’t think you are mafia. I think all the dead mafia have accused you or voted for you at one time or another. They have a habit of leaving people alive that they can lynch easily. That is why I think you were left alive, and that is why I am alive today.

Coincidentally, Fretful is pushing for the death of the most suspicious town right now. She is also using the same line of reasoning that I think the mafia would use. They set up the nights events so that suspicion would fall squarely on me, because they thought my lynch would be the easiest to sell. Now Fretful is pushing my lynch, and rationalizing it on the night events. As Storyteller mentioned earlier, the night kill is controlled by the mafia, and will always be executed to deceive the town.

I would say no, I did not misrepresent any facts in an attempt to get you lynched. Since there are no facts, and you snipped the part where I said according to the 4 assumptions, it would have followed that you were scum. While this may have been a misreading of the 4 assumptions it was never a misrepresentation of any sort of facts.

I understand you have other reasons for suspecting I am mafia, but I went after one of your reasons that was based on a misconception that no one was pointing out.

I also never said you misrepresented facts in an attempt to get me lynched. I said your misrepresentation had potential to get me lynched. Why do you keep insisting that I am accusing you of something scummy?

Huh?

What does this mean then?

I never said you were doing it intentionally, or that you were actively seeking to get me lynched by misrepresenting facts. I only said that the facts that you misrepresented had the potential to get me lynched. Just because they had that potential does not mean you used them in an attempt to get me lynched.

In other words, you misread them, stated them incorrectly and the the incorrect way you stated them was causing me harm. I had every right to correct you.

Umm…you know that the day ends really soon real time wise right?

Fair warning.

Well, this is turning into a fine mess. Fifteen hours until the deadline, and again we have two players bickering instead of anyone talking about, you know, the game. We look like we’re headed for another last minute, ill-considered lynch that happens about thirty seconds before zero hour, and while I am not convinced of much, I am convinced that another hurried quickie-lynch is just exactly what the scum among us are hoping for.

So. Right now I am about equally suspicious of Lakai and Fretful. Fretful has carefully and effectively avoided climbing out onto any kind of limb for quite some time now; she’s filled most of this game Day with vague implications that either Queuing or I shouldn’t be trusted - but won’t say which, or why. She “doesn’t like voting with crowds.” She always like she’s trying to distance herself from her own opinions, to avoid being associated with any particular lynch or even any particular line of inquiry. Her approach, as I said earlier, seems designed to obscure, to increase uncertainty rather than move toward a solution. Does this make sense?

On the other hand, Lakai did that very odd last second vote switch on the brewha vote, which still hasn’t been explained that I can tell. And now he’s engaged in this fruitless, unproductive argument with Queuing, which has essentially occupied an entire real life day’s worth of posts.

We do, eventually, have to vote. If there are two scum left, as seems likely, and they hold their votes until 11:25 tomorrow and no one else votes at all (or we split our votes), they will be able to swing the vote without a whimper from us. At this moment, absent further explanation or contribution from any of the principals, my preferred vote is for Fretful Porpentine,, with Lakai a fairly close second.

We really need to get this thing in gear.

Screw it. I’ll start.

Vote Lakai

But I reserve the right to come back and change it later, if my eyes don’t start bleeding and fall out.

Why Lakai and not Fretful? Because I still don’t believe that a Mafia good enough to last this long would have posted that Blaster Master conspiracy theory and kept pushing on it.

Um, yeah, I think I understand what you’re saying. Kinda. But the fact is that I don’t have a flipping clue who is Mafia at this point, and I refuse to pretend that I do have a clue, because frankly, the vast vast majority of screwups the town has made in this game have resulted from people who don’t have a clue pretending that they do and refusing to admit that uncertainty exists. And I include several of my own screwups in this category.

Sheesh, if you’re going to lynch me, lynch me for that last-minute vote for hocow, OK? I would’ve lynched me for that. But not, for God’s sake, for being honest about what I don’t know.

To be honest, I don’t understand this post. You agreed with Lakai about holding off votes and now you are asking to get it in gear? Seemingly complaining about the lack of posting? There are only 5 people left, it makes sense that it will slow down fairly significantly.

I actually found Lakai and my exchange somewhat helpful. He asks me a question, which I answer, and then tries to deny asking the asking the question, claiming I misread it. His posts read, to me at least, like something a lawyer would write, dissecting each and every word to be able to deny saying anything at all. IMO it has made Lakai even more scummier in my mind then before.

I do agree with your 2 however. I don’t much care which one we go for, my order is the same as yours.

Since we are now in the 12 hour day ends anyway window I will:

Lynch Fretful Porpentine

Well, since it looks like a good time now, I’ll cast my vote.

Lynch Fretful Porpentine.

I guess Storyteller will get to decide who goes down, I kind of like that.

I promise I won’t be doing any last minute unvoting today.

OK, I’m losing my mind here, because this is the second time in a week that I’ve gotten up in the middle of the night - from a sound sleep - for no real reason other than to check this board. This can’t be healthy.

It just seems to me like there’s a not-so-very-fine line between “holding off on votes” and whiling away the entire Day without really accomplishing much. I’d like to have seen more discussion than we had, particularly during the real life day today. Water under the bridge at this point, though.

I agree with this. I’m going to assume that very little significant activity is going to happen between now and 8:00AM or so, so I’ll withhold my official vote until tomorrow morning when I get to work. If nothing has happened to change my perspective by then, then my vote will be for Fretful.

As promised:

vote Fretful Porpentine

This is nerve-wracking.

3- Fretful Porpentine - (Lakai, Queuing, Storyteller)
1- Lakai - (Kat)

Day ends in a little over an hour.

If you lynch me, the town will lose. That is all.

No, what the hell, that isn’t all. Ask yourselves this: If I were Mafia, why would I have been one of the first people to express distrust of Aguecheek’s role claim on Day 7, and why would I have voted for Suburban Plankton on Day 3, when it would have been just as easy to vote for Fern Forest, a townie? Why, also, would I have wanted to prevent speed-lynching brewha, when I could have just thrown in a final vote without drawing attention to myself? (And yup, I could have done all of these things to look less suspicious. I haven’t got a good defense against that, because it’s an impossible charge to defend against.) What I do think you’ll find, as you look over my record, is that I’ve been consistent – that you will get a definite impression of my personality and the way I think. I think storyteller is more or less accurate about the fact that I don’t like to go out on a limb. I think I’ve figured out what bugs me about Queuing, and to a lesser extent Lakai – I’m not getting a consistent impression of personality (Queuing, for example, seems to be a relatively conservative and helpful poster one minute, and a very aggressive and accusatory one the next – see Day 5 for an example). This is making me think that his posts and persona here are calculated.

FoS Queuing, but vote Lakai. I doubt this will do any good whatsoever, but what the hey, there’s an off chance that the one townie among storyteller, Lakai, and Queuing will decide to shift his allegiance. (Obviously, if Lakai is the townie, I’m screwed, but we’re all screwed anyway if that’s the case.)
