Werewolf - a game.

He kept defending lurking as a strategy. Later, he said that he had suspicions of who was a werewolf but wouldn’t reveal them because he didn’t want the wolves to eat him. That struck me as weaseling. Er, wolfling.

And our dear departed hocow had it in for him early.

That’s all I’ve got.

It might be helpful if someone compiles a list noting everyone who voted for **Menocchio **and/or Rubystreak. I’ll do it in the morning if no one else feels like it. (Have to go to bed now. My eyes are crossing.)

So, basically you take exception to the use of the phrase “clearly baseless” to describe votes against jsgoddess on Day 1. I don’t see the problem here. The jsgoddess bandwagon was clearly baseless. This has nothing to do with her true role, but rather with the amount of information available at the time, which was very little. The Masons knew who each other were, likewise the werewolves, but nobody else knew a damn thing. Even assuming that the bandwagon was successful and that jsgoddess turned out to be a werewolf, it still would have been baseless - lucky, but baseless.

I hope the blood-thirsty scavengers get severe indigestion.

Oh well. It was fun, and I can’t wait for another round since I now have a better idea of what I’m doing.

Off to read the forbidden thread in IMHO.

I’m a she, btw.

People who voted for Mennochio: Ogre, Enginerd, Kat, Rysto, sturmhauke, JSexton, Captain Carrot.

People who voted for Rubystreak: Miller (twice), Enginerd, sturmhauke, Suburban Plankton, dnooman

Day one stats are a bit skewed because of the substitutions. Two people are no longer playing who were neither lynched, nor eaten. Also, two people had no votes or posts because they were not yet playing. Those people being myself, and Unfinished Symphony.

Mennochio voted for Jsgoddess only before he was lynched. Rubystreak voted for Kytheria (now me), and Miller before she was lynched.

The people that have been eaten (Miller, hocow, Rysto, JSexton) have the following vote tally:

Richard Parker 1, Mennochio 2, Rubystreak 2, Miller 1, Jsgoddess 1, JSexton 1, OAOW 3, Winston Smith 1, and moonstarsun 1. hocow is the only person to have been eaten that did not vote for OAOW.

Miller and JSexton were both voted for 8 times before they were eaten. hocow was voted for once, and Rysto was never voted for.

Yes, as you point out, the accusation *was *clearly baseless. I take no exception to the description itself, but I wonder why Richard Parker felt he needed to use the phrase. Everyone knew the accusation was baseless; all accusations on Day 1 were baseless. So why did he have to point out the fact that the accusation was “clearly baseless”, when everyone already knew it? It seems to me like he was going out of his way to deflect suspicion from Rubystreak. And since she turned out to be a fanged menace, that makes me suspicious of him.

You voted for Winston Smith on three separate days (one, three, and four).

That’s not a sign of confusion to me.

I was suspicious of Winston Smith early on,everything he did subsequently raised more suspicion right up until his final hours,at which point I was sure we had us a wolf(as all of you were).
I was wrong.

The reason I pointed out that it was “clearly baseless” was because it was germane the point I was making. The point was that the defensive response to that accusation was interesting given that everyone knew it was just a blind choice – there was no need to be upset unless a lucky guess got too close to home.

To be honest, I have you on my list of unsuspicious characters, Suburban Plankton, but your reasoning on this one has got me questioning that list. I just really don’t see what you’re seeing on this one.

I’m seeing the same thing as everyone else: werewolves lurking around every corner, hiding in every shadow.

cue spooky music

ComeToTheDarkSideWeHaveCookies
jsgoddess
MadTheSwine
Richard Parker
unfinished symphony (replaced smiling bandit)
Captain Carrot
sturmhauke
Suburban Plankton
Ogre
One And Only Wanderers (probably a Mason)
Kat
dnooman (replaced Kythereia)
Enginerd

Okay, people in red didn’t vote for either of the known werewolves. These seem like reasonable people to be suspicious of. And yes, I’m obviously one of them.

Naw, all the accusations, even correct ones, on Day One were completely baseless. jsgoddess’s comment about keeping his suspicions silent for fear of being eaten is more weighty in my mind. If he voiced his suspicions and got eaten for them, we could’ve had some clues about who he named. Hasn’t it been said that you “win” even after death if your team wins?

This post has been half-bloodied by the Half-Blood Prince.

Sorry.

Woot. I’m now connected from the new house. The wifi guy just left.

I’m starving, and about to take a drive out to Santa Cruz to dip my toes in my beloved Pacific and grab some lunch, but I wanted to take a moment to say that my lack of lycanthropic lashing vote record isn’t necessarily as simple as jsgoddess’s post implies, since I happen to be at the tippity top of her list. :stuck_out_tongue:

Due to relocating and the new accelerated timeframe I didn’t get a chance to vote at all the day we executed Rubystreak. I haven’t chimed in with a “but I would’ve voted for her” because that and $0.39 will buy me a stamp as far as public perception goes.

I did at least post that I found Ruby’s prolific defensive exchange noteworthy prior to the vote deadline. I do admit that I had my ass perched on the fence in that same post, because I hadn’t had the chance to carefully marinate in all that she had said during her back and forth.

Excuses? Yes. But they happen to be true and valid.

At this point my FOS is nervously shaking at a few folks. Basically anyone still playing who has attempted to call me out. Some might consider this defensive or retalitory, but I’d counter that such actions by true townies, such as myself, are a completely valid strategy. They key is to analyze carefully to determine which incidents were likely just town paranoia and drop them from the sample.

jsgoddess ,this is now the 4th time you have pointed out that you did not vote for Mennochio. You also reminded us you didn’t vote for him in post #'s 270,294 and 366.In post 865, you again point out another misguided vote, after Rubystreak was lynched. Seems to me you are playing the “village idiot card”, very similar to Rubystreak’s failed strategy.
Another post that raises questions is #563.In that post you try to get the Masons to claim, again playing dumb.
Post #636 is just plain weird.
In post #792 you ask for a shorter day.I am not sold on the short day, seems like a short day only helps the wolves, since they can talk at night.
Post #896 you say “I’m beginning to feel like I’m the worst player this game has ever seen.” More Idiocy.
Post #905 “guesses” there are 4 wolves.
And in post #1017 you are baffled once again.
I also think SubPlankton’s post #97 is important.

All that being said, and as much as it seems nobody wants to cast the first stone,I am throwing mine hard and heavy at jsgoddess.Vote jsgoddess.

Really? I just reread that post, and even I don’t see any substance in it.

I’ve been holdin off on casting my vote until a few more people chimed in with their most recent theories, just so I caould have something to bounce my own thoughts off of. Now that I’ve had some more time to think…

Vote jsgoddess.

[Yoda]You will beeeee.[/Yoda]

I’m voting for Richard Parker.

The quip about not wanting to be eaten reminded me of Menocchio’s claim that he didn’t want to share his information because it would mean the wolves had it. I don’t trust people who say they have information they aren’t willing to share.

What’s the ETA on darkness falling? And what is the number to start the lynch-y countdown?

Well, at least I can cross you off the list of possible Seers.

…and you are looking for seers for what reason?

Aren’t we all “looking for” the Seer? If you know who the Seer is, then there is one person you know you can trust (assuming you are a townie).
