Werewolf - a game.

There’s one question that’s really bugging me:

I understand that **sturmhauke **didn’t want to expose himself (assuming that he is the Seer) by coming out in support of Winston Smith, since it was pretty much a lost cause as soon as he claimed to be a Mason. What I don’t understand is why he cast a vote for Winston. He could just as easily have cast no vote, and it wouldn’t have aroused any suspicion at all. It just seems wrong, if you know what I mean.

Looking over my notes again, **jsgoddess **still looks the most suspicious to me. From where I stand, about the only thing she has going for her is sturmhauke’s assertion that she is town. Since we have collectively decided to believe sturmhauke’s claim, I’m not going to buck the trend.

The next person on my list was Richard Parker, who also is town (according to sturmhauke), and the next name down is MadTheSwine.

I’m also suspicious of unfinished symphony and Captain Carrot, but neither one has posted enough to really get a read on.

Unvote jsgoddess, vote MadTheSwine.

I could understand not voting for Winston if you’re trying to hide the fact that you’re the seer - especially if you’re posting without voting. Winston was, as far as I could tell, stark raving mad… and everybody who voted voted for him (except, of course, Winston himself). If Sturmhauke were posting but didn’t vote, that in and of itself would have been a little suspicious - to the werewolves if not to us.

so, we;re looking at a choice between madtheswine and cookies are we?

unvote Kat vote MadTheSwine

and I say again. If sturmhauke isn’t the seer, then the real seer needs to come out right now as that would bag us a wolf.

It would have been difficult to save Winston’s hide even before he made that Mason claim. Afterwards, it was nearly impossible. I could have outed myself yesterday and said he was innocent, in the same manner as I have done today with jsgoddess, but it would have created even more chaos than we have seen today. I could not predict what the outcome of that might have been, neither for Winston nor myself. Partly this has to do with the timing of game events - Winston made his Mason claim only 22 hours before the end of the game day, which would have left very little time for my claim to be read and acted upon. (By the way, that post of mine took several hours to compose. I wanted to present my case very carefully and thoroughly. So that would have left even less time yesterday.) Also, I felt like Winston simply looked too damn suspicious for enough townies to believe me in time, even if I knew he was innocent. By voting for Winston, I was giving up on the remote possibility of saving him, and trying to disguise my identity from the werewolves until such time as I chose to reveal it. After the successful Rubystreak lynching, I thought I was maybe exposing myself too much.

Today, I thought about letting jsgoddess hang and waiting for tomorrow or later, but I thought I had a much better chance of saving her than I did with Winston. I must say I feel guilty about letting Winston hang, but that’s not all. Every day that passes, the werewolves have a greater chance of killing one of the power players, which greatly increases their chances. Losing Masons removes “secret odds” in favor of the town, since they know whether people on the suspect list are Masons and can vote accordingly. Losing the Angel means as soon as I come out as the Seer, I’m dead that night. And losing me means the town no longer has true detection powers. If jsgoddess was not already ahead in the polls, I might have waited until tomorrow. In that case I could potentially have had either three townies up my sleeve or, if I was very lucky, another werewolf to expose. But as things were earlier today, I felt that losing jsgoddess and still waiting was not worth the risk of losing a power player to the wolves. Also, the odds could have shifted in their favor even if they didn’t kill a power player.

I am not a wolf guys.I was wrong about Winston as I said before, which seems to be the basis of the suspicion against me,but that hardly constitutes lynching, considering his behavior. vote ComeToTheDarkSideWeHaveCookies

Okay, I’m reversing myself here, but with a reason. Based on the info in my earlier posts, Cookies still hasn’t voted for or been voted for by OAOW. So, at least this way, I’m fairly sure not to be voting for a Mason. (I’m not totally sure I didn’t miss an accusation somewhere down the line.)

Unvote Cookies, vote MadtheSwine.

Very concise recaps Kat! I have to agree that Cookie’s behavior has seemed a bit unbalanced, I’ll be keeping an eye on her. However, in light of this new flurry of activity, and it seems a narrowed beam of focus, I have reviewed a few people’s voting behavior/posting tone. For a while I thought that MadTheSwine was on a Quixotic mission against Winston, for what reason I have no clue. It seemed to me that it would be very strange behavior for a wolf (who knows who the townies are and can pick on any one of them) to isolate and attack a person who was only a townie. Even after assuming that he was after Winston as a possible high value target, it still didn’t make sense. He could have just eaten the guy overnight, no need to have him lynched. Besides, Winston’s posts do not indicate to me that he would have been anything other than town anyways. The thing that has me bothered is the “Boss Sexton” comment. It seems he was trying to curry favor with JSexton who, at the time, was a town leader. Why would a townie need to curry favor like that? It stayed in the back of my mind as just an odd comment, but now it seems that it might have been an overlooked clue.

I think if he were the GA, he would have claimed by now. So, I’m fairly comfortable with a vote for MadTheSwine

I would think the GA would want to lie as low as possible for as long as possible, especially if the Seer is outed.

This business is gonna get out of hand and we are all gonna die.You are correct jsgoddess ,I wanted to lay low as long as possible,I didn’t want us both in the open but if I am lynched sturmhauke dies and we lose.Hopefully I didn’t wait to long, but I am in fact,The Guardian Angel. Now it just boils down to wether or not to protect myself or **sturmehauke ** tonight, guess I will have to deal with that problem tonight.(if I make it to tonight)

In case you were wondering about my protection history,I protected myself the first night, probably not the best choice, but I was scared and had little to go on.Was torn the second night between Jsexton and OAOW but finally opted towards OAOW and have protected him every night since then, since he seemed a likely target as the only known special role.

Great. The deadline is nigh, and now we have this to deal with. unvote MadTheSwine

Dammit!

If someone is going to counterclaim, they need to do it NOW.

We’re seriously running out of time, here.

And dammit, we still don’t have enough data on unfinished symphony and could easily be overlooking a wolf right there.

If we lynch the GA, we are well and truly boned. However this could be a false claim too. We could have sturmhauke investigate him tonight, that way if he’s not the GA, the real GA can stay hidden. This might be the one occasion where it would not be a good idea to counterclaim if he’s not the GA.

Can we ask for an extension? I don’t think enough people are going to read this between now and the deadline in order for us to get a consensus.

It worries me that we have players we haven’t heard from in a long time, so we have no idea if they just aren’t talking because they have nothing to say, or if they would be counterclaiming any of these role claims.
If you’re out there reading this, speak up.

It looks like we have under 3 hours to decide whether to lynch MadTheSwine and take our chances, or lynch Cookies or someone else, and have MadTheSwine investigated tonight.

If he’s not lying and we lynch him, then sturmhauke dies tonight, and we have no more solid information coming in. If he’s lying and we find out he’s a wolf overnight, we lynch him tomorrow without prejudice.

I tend to think he’s lying, but I can’t justify gambling with the most important player in the game’s life right now.

I, for one, will make no counterclaim, because I have no special role. Just on the off chance that helps anyone.

Are you asking for the GA to out themself if MadTheSwine is lying?!
Assuming the GA counterclaims, we lynch MadTheSwine, and then the remaining wolf or wolves have a %50 chance shot of killing the Seer or the GA tonight. If they kill the GA, the Seer dies the next night, and vice versa.

Does that sound like a good plan to you?

If we have MadTheSwine investigated tonight, we can kill him tomorrow if he’s lying, and the GA gets to stay hidden.

You said yourself

What is your reasoning here?

I am asking for everyone who is reading to check in so we know who is aware of the claim and who isn’t.

We don’t even know if everyone knows sturmhauke claimed to be the Seer. We don’t even know if everyone knows Wanderers claimed to be a Mason. We have so many people not talking that it’s really hard to know who knows what.

If one of these people is lying and if someone is going to counterclaim, they need to do it now. If.

If someone is reading the thread and not doing at least what Captain Carrot just did, we won’t know what the hell is going on.

Not everyone will check in before time runs out, that much is almost certain. Meanwhile jsgoddess and Captain Carrot, who we know are reading, still have their votes in for MadTheSwine. If time runs out and he has the majority of votes, he dies, no matter his role.

I think we can ill afford to do anything rash, especially this close to the deadline.

vote ComeToTheDarkSideWeHaveCookies until we can shed more light on this.

Oh, and since we’re all claiming, I am a townsperson. I also have no special role.
