Werewolf (Mafia)--The Split [Signups--In progress]

I think that would just be pointless wanking. plenty of time to talk abut that next week if that’s how it turns out. Well, except for Freudian. He should post his ideas in advance.

Besides, if the testerizer is working on something other than a color matching scheme it’s worthless; we’d be lucky to figure it out even after the game was over let alone during.

I agree.

Despite the fun in trying to figure out the Testerizer puzzle, I’m beginning to feel it’s more of a distraction than anything else.

Yep. If Slit is a wolf, we have some data. If not and he/she’s just a rancher, the testerizer is proving to be a pain.

Well, I personally think that Freudian Slit is lying through her canine teeth. But we’ll see soon enough.

vote Freudian Slit

This is going to be so much fun when I’m vindicated. So, here are some thoughts.

I really don’t trust Seeker and how hard he’s pushing me as a wolf. When you get my results, I think he’s going to look a lot more suspect, and will possibly make a good lynch/test candidate.

Seeker was the first one to point out Daphne based on a feeling. This is a pretty weak case, IMHO. I saw, and still see, nothing weird about Daphne.

Seeker was very eager to change votes when he he saw we weren’t jumping on the Daphne bandwagon. But at the same time was still voicing suspicion of Daphne. Clearly, Daphne was not defending november b/c both were wolves (b/c we know november was town). So this looks just weird to me.

Again with the feelings. This makes no sense to me at all. Why ride Daphne so hard?

I also don’t like the “No, I’m just an innocent newbie, I don’t know what I’m doing” play. A lot of you guys are newbies. The playing field is more or less level–if you look scummy, it’s not because you’re just a poor defenseless noob.

This could be plain ignorance about how the game works. Or it could be that Seeker was trying to get us to just lynch a townie without using the device.

You’d think someone who was a town would be hyper aware of the rivalry between Rancher and Farmer, no? Granted, Seeker could be a Townie who forgot it was relevant that town wins as ranchers or as farmers. Or he could be a lycanthrope who doesn’t care if ranchers or farmers win because he’s only looking at things from the Wolf perspective.

I’m not particularly impressed by this case. Freudian, you look like a wolf. Even if you know you’re not a wolf, you have to see that you look like a wolf.

My suspicions are in a bit of a state of flux, depending on whether Freudian is guilty (as I think) or not (as is possibly if the GM hates us). Either way, it’ll probably be worth going back and reading the posts of his first three accusers.

Vote FS

Sorry FS, but at this stage you are a data point. If it turns out that you are an innocent rancher, then either the teseteriszer is random for townies, as suggested, or maybe the two colours together having 8 letters codes for rancher.

Time will tell, but you will not be lynched in vain, innocent or not.

I don’t think I seem all that wolf-like, to be honest. And I’m glad I’m not dying in vain, and I really hope you guys look closely at those who are saying that I seem like a wolf because they’re the ones who should be up on the testerizing block next.

I’m trying to theorise about the Testeriser.

It’s got one obvious function; it’s a conversation starter. Mafia games often need a conversation starter, otherwise we tend to go round a treadmill of a few well-worn topics. The Testerizer gave us something to talk about.

It may be that the Testerizer is meant to allow us to build up a picture, but if it is it cannot be something we can piece together in a Day or two, as that would be unfair to the Wolves. The quickest the Wolves can win the game is 4-5 Days, assuming no other killers in this setup, unless there are more than five Wolves. Six Wolves would give 12 townspeople almost no chance.

I think we have to lynch FS, just to see what her role actually is. I’d have been prepared not to if the test results were identical to November’s. Unfortunate, but there we are.

vote Freudian Slit.

Sorry FS. :frowning:

One thing. November said nothing before his untimely death. FS has had plenty to say. When we look back after her death, we’ll be able to look at what she said in the light of her true alignment. We can also see how others reacted to her.

I need to read this game again before I can comment intelligently on other issues.

I’m not about to quote your entire Post #645, Freudian Slit, but for the most part, I agree with your points, especially considering the best rebuttal anyone has against them is, “That doesn’t make any sense”, and that’s not a rebuttal at all.

The problem lies in your weird color combo, and the fact that it doesn’t mesh at all with your claimed alignment (or what we assume your claimed alignment would look like based on november’s test results). For what it’s worth, I would rather have Tested and Lynched Seeker, but as it stands, you look like a wolf who got caught out in a lie about their alignment.

I will propose three other explanations:

  1. The testerizer is much more complicated than we thought, and for some reason gives inconsistent results for the same alignment, making it pretty much useless.

  2. You are actually a farmer (though if you were bothering to ID your occupation, it is beyond me why you would lie about this at all), and you don’t want to recant at this point for fear of looking wishy-washy.

  3. You have a power role that you are extremely reluctant to reveal, for whatever reason. Maybe whatever it is will be more effective in death.
I’m also inclined to believe that if you were scum, there would be more other scum defending you. And now I realize that if you are in fact scum, this post of mine looks pretty scummy.* And I also realize that the other scum may have simply written you off as expendable at this point, and they’re not going to risk outing themselves by trying to save you.

  • I’m honestly not sure about Freudian Slit’s wolfiness. I’m more certain that Seeker and/or Telcontar like to howl at the moon. Even though the tide is pretty much against Freudian Slit, even though she’s the most rational choice for lynching this time around, I still have a very bad feeling about it.

It could be that the testerizer always produces two random colors for a townie, but has two set colors for scum. For example, say that any scum tested always ends up being black and purple, just to pick two random colors. Once we test and lynch one, then we’ll immediately know any scum as soon as we test one, because they would have the same two colors.

But that’s if FS is telling the truth, which I don’t believe she is. Like someone else said, even if she’s not scum, she could easily have a power role that does something special when she dies. She does seem to be rather…nonchalant about going to her grave. In that case, either aqua or teal or both could correspond to someone with a power role.

We’ll just have to wait until her lynching and go from there.

lynch Freudian Slit

I’ve said before that I don’t want to go. But I do think that if you guys don’t lynch me, you’ll always be wondering if I’m really scum.

I think this is the best way to help the town, honestly. If I’m lynched, you’ll know not to automatically trust the Testerizer, and maybe how to interpret it. For those who think I’m scum, everything I say will be under the lens of “seems wolf-like” to me.

Yeah, this post looks pretty scummy. Not really because you are defending Freudian, though two of your three alternate scenarios are really pretty weird (the first one makes some sense, as we’ve all been saying if Freudian is not a wolf that must be what’s going on). But this ‘I’m not really going to take a stand against the lynch, but I feel so awful about it’ is a scummy thing to say.

It sure does look like Freudian is going to swing today. If you really think Seeker or Telcontar is a better choice, then tell us why, build a case, vote for them. You’re voting for Freudian – why, if you feel this way? It’s not like anyone else is in danger of being lynched at this point. It looks to me like its so you can safely be on the bandwagon and not stick your neck out, but still point to ‘I didn’t like it’ later if she does turn out to be a rancher?

Ergh, the punctuation of that last sentence is appalling. Trying again:

It looks to me like [you are voting for FS] so you can safely be on the bandwagon, and not stick your neck out, but still point to ‘I didn’t like it’ later if she does turn out to be a rancher.

Daphne, are posts 654 and 655 directed at Ichini? I’m still finding your final question/comment hard to follow.

Yes, it’s at Ichini. I’m saying that voting for someone and then saying ‘oh I don’t feel good about this’ is scummy, because it lets you be safely on the bandwagon with everyone else, but then, if the lynchee comes up town, you can point back to it and say you ‘didn’t really’ want to lynch them.

So is this unanimous(except Freudian)? Anyone else in the game who isn’t posting regularly(like November was)?

Anyone see/hear November anywhere?

Zeriel has disappeared.
