Confirminating!
Confirmed.
What do we do next? Start discussions? Do we do that in here as a “town”?
So, this werewolf testerizer.
Let me see if I’ve got this straight. We vote who we want to put in the testerizer. You check the role of this person, and give us a two color code that corresponds with role of the person. The townsfolk have to figure out the meaning of the codes from in-game information.
That’s how I interpreted it as well.
I got my PM!
Now what do I do?
More or less.
Confirming my role.
When I confirmed, I actually deleted the rest of my post (on purpose) that was basically asking “what the hell do I do now?”
I wondered if even posting that was giving away some information. But since others have asked the same question, I’m diving in to say “what now”.
Of course, now I’m wondering if this message contains some hidden signals. Or if others will interpret it as doing so, even though it’s entirely innocuous. At least, I think it is.
Paranoia and overthink?
Isn’t there usually some signal that the game has started? No? Well, it’s been a while since I played. We supposed to just start?
Dammit! Why didn’t I check this forum over the weekend? Can I be put down as a sub?
Well at this point in the game I think I’ll:
Vote Rexnervous
Welcome to the game.
Is that purple? Are you both voting and un-voting me at same time?
If it’s supposed to be blue, then…
You won’t be off to an auspicious start.
Of course, I’m wondering if this is like “Survivor” on TV - at the beginning, it doesn’t matter if you’re good or bad, but if you’re loud, you’re a target. Maybe I should shut up for a bit…
I’d have no objections to you taking the first opportunity to sub into the game, since you’re new and I’m not.
Yes it is. I just double checked and purple is the color for the alignment checker thingy. I figure we want to vote on that before we vote for lynch.

Well, there are two schools of thought that I’ve seen on this unfortunately you’re right and the prominent posters are the first to go. The other idea is lynch the lurkers, which is what I prefer, and if I can talk the town into following that then sitting down and shutting up will get you strung up.
Confirming that I got my role and I’m here. I’m not going to start my career with a blind vote, though.
Holy shit, this is kind of terrifying.
Ah, I totally forgot about that part. I was so hung up on “shit, I already got a vote” I didn’t even think about the testerizer.
Here’s a Werewolf/Mafia process question - are we allowed to vote for ourselves? For either the lynch or the tester? Can’t even think why one would want to, but just curious.
Confirming my role.
Paranoia and overthink == mafia!
I agree that we should vote on the testerizer before we start voting for lynch, but if someone is acting really scummy, that’s not going to stop me from going blue on them.
Re: lynching lurker vs lynching loud people. I’m more of the mind that lynching lurkers is an excellent idea after a few days. If someone has established a serious lurking pattern - which to me means no real content in their posts, and a seeming inattention to the game, then they are being anti-town – leaving a record of interactions is the most pro-town thing there is. At that point, I think lynching them will be more likely to have good results: either they are scum or they are really not helping the town at all. I also have noticed in watching most games that at least one scum is quite heavily in the lurker pile, so there’s better odds of hitting a scum in that smaller group as well. But that’s after about Day Three or so.
For Day One, though, I think lynching the lurker is essentially firing in the dark. Of course, in most cases, Day One is all about firing in the dark.
What I don’t think is a good idea is lynching someone because they were vocal about a bad idea. A bad idea is not (necessarily) a scum tell!
Confirming my role. I’m an innocent villager, of course. Would never harm a fly…
Bad ideas are only scum tells when they come from good players. Granted good players still alive a few days in are all probably bad guys anyway
