Werewolves are running amok.

Now that yet another month has passed, I am more or less forced to admit that my Internet version of Tonto has let me down. The guy who was going to make my silver bullets has not answered any of my last five emails. He did not cash my check, nor did he send me any silver bullets.

It looks pretty grim, to me. I am going to start over, though, and begin looking at silversmiths and jewelers, in the local area. (DC Metro) I don’t know how long that will take, and I just wanted everyone to know that eventually, I will post a new thread showing the results of the live fire testing. I will also include at least one round of Glaser ammunition, just for informational purposes.

I have fairly reliable accounts of the of use wet newspaper as a ballistic gel substitute, and a tentative agreement as to a good location for the test fire exercise. What I lack is silver bullets.

Ignorance is so hard to fight, sometimes.

Soak some phonebooks. Easier to manipulate at the range!

I vaguely remember something about you wanting silver bullets; If it weren’t for the for the fairly high (compared to lead) melting point of silver, I’d try to goad you into making your own, since the thought has crossed my mind in the past. Be nice to have someone try it first!

Do you know that winchester makes silvertipped bullets(in hollowpoint, no less) for many of the common calibers?

Always served me well when I hunt lupines.

Correction: Winchester makes ‘Silvertip® Hollowpoint’ bullets, sure. But the only silver thing about them is the color. If you are looking for a bullet that is actually made out of real silver, then alas, Winchester is no help.
