Westerners Detained for Trial in Afghanistan

I saw this quote:

“Two Americans, two Australians and six Germans are being held in detention in Kabul, charged with spreading Christianity. If found guilty they could face the death penalty.”

How will this affect a possible strike against the Afghani regime? Do we simply demand their safe return? This might be a good time for the Taleban to display some high-profile altruism, no?

Just a WAG, but I’d say that those people are about to die for their country(s). Either the Taliban will dispense with jurisprudence and execute them, or they will be used as “human shields” and probably become collateral damage.

I was under the impression that foreigners preaching a non-muslim faith can only served up to four years in prison for the offense. However, if a native Moslem converts, he is subjected to the death penalty.
